We recently arranged an intensive, thready academic workshop for 26 people at the villa virginia in Porque that included lodging for four nights and all meals including a special dinner our final night. Porque, a rural community on the outskirts of santiago about an hour from the downtown area, was a green and tranquil location to hold our meeting away from the bustle and distractions of the city. The villa virginia includes the casa the charming historic main residence with a few guest rooms, living, and dining areas, including a lovely enclosed patio with garden views, two newer buildings with additional guest rooms and a secondfloor large meeting room, as well as an additional octagonal structure with lots of natural light and wooden floors that can also be used for meetings. Organic gardens, fruit trees, fields, and a swimming pool are all on the grounds. The guestroom was immaculate and comfortable. The delicious, wellprepared and served meals included organically grown and presented ingredients, free range eggs from their flocks, fresh fruit juice, honey from their hives, and delicious fresh, semisoft cheese from their goats. A trio who sang and played guitarrones complemented our final meal. They made sure that our meetings needs, and those of the many and varied needs of the meeting were met. This location is truly amazing. We didn't stay in the hotel, but the rooms were amazing. We'd have liked to have stayed here, especially since the food and service were excellent. The meal was delicious, I especially enjoyed the salmon. Some of the food items are grown on-site at the special school. Cheese is also made on site. The ingredients are quite fresh and delicious.
