Fenghuang Story Hotel sits in the heart of Fenghuang Ancient Town, a five-minute walk from Hongqiao Bridge, the Tuo River Stepping Stones and the local food streets. Walk three minutes down the lane behind the hotel and you reach Nanmenkou Old Street — the quiet alley that holds the towns cultural heart and the former residence of Shen Congwen. Most visitors see the river in an afternoon; this is where Fenghuang rewards a slower pace.The hotel itself is timber-built in the traditional Chinese style, with rooms arranged around an open central courtyard. Guests are welcome to take tea in the courtyard pavilion, beside a small landscaped pond with seating along the railings.Every guest receives one-on-one butler-style service, including complimentary laundry — collected from your room, washed, dried, folded and returned — along with free travel advice and trip planning.Each room has its own compact clothes dryer, mini fridge, smart toilet and electric curtains. The in-room dryer is a guest favourite: wash your delicates and dry them privately, with no need for a shared laundry room, and a rain-soaked jacket will be dry by morning.
