Spent two days in Liberia. Wonderful location in the center of Liberia next to the Parque Mario Canas Ruiz. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Delicious breakfast included. Great courtyard to relax. Will definitely return again!

Maya Tenorio

I have stayed at Hotel Liberia several times, last year and this year. The staff are lovely and accommodating. Last year when I was doing research and staying there, they washed my teams' clothes (of course we paid) which were absolutely filthy from working in the field. They have delicious meals and will serve you whenever you like. The rooms do not have air conditioning or hot water, but honestly it's really unnecessary unless you're planning to stay in your room the entire day. I even took my mom here on my most recent trip and she adored it even as a woman who loves the AC and typically stays at resorts. I love it here and will continue to go back each time I visit!

I liked this place a lot. I'll stay there again if I'm even in the area.

I stayed there my first and last night in Costa Rica. They were all so nice and helpful too. They helped me get a rental car and it was a better deal than I had found. The dorm rooms are simple, clean, cheap, and basic. Their restaurant was very good and opens at 6 am. They made me a lunch to go on my last morning there so I had some of their delicious food to have on my flight home. That was very nice! Thank you Hotel Liberia!

Stayed at the Hotel Liberia a few times throughout my stay in Costa Rica. Was a very convenient place to stay because of it's location; it's in downtown Liberia and is within walking distance to the bus terminal and a relatively short drive away from the airport. Facilities were nice--I particularly appreciated the free towels and soap, and staff were very friendly and helpful. One of them even help us cut a pineapple. Sheets were a little thin at night but I could've worn more to sleep and it also depended on the night.

Wow what can I say, I have to start by saying, a FABULOUS hotel, EXCELLENT STAFF, STUPENDOUS FREE WI-FI and the breakfast buffet..Let's just say I may have to start eating castados now that I am away from them :-( The hotel is very well ran, the staff are bilingual the rooms are very comfortable and they have REAL cable tv, it rained about everyday I was there so I spent a little extra time in the rooms, but let me tell you, I can't remember the last time I watched tv and I saw movie after movie after movie and it was varied on every channel. The noise level was not loud at all, I did come during rainy season, but the way this place is set up I can easily see why it will get booked fast if you come during the high tourist time. I think my favorite part of my stay was the buffet. They serve AUTHENTIC Costa Rican food and if for whatever reason you did not want to eat that in the morning the hotel is closely located (Walking Distance) to other eateries along the main road in town. Again overall I rate this hotel easily 5 stars!

I chose this hotel for my last night as it was conveniently close to the airport. The front door is secured, which adds a nice layer of safety, as visitors must ring a bell for entry. Check-in was smooth, and I was promptly directed to my room on the first floor. The room itself was cozy, albeit small, which is perfectly fine for a short stay of just one or two nights. While there was no comforter, the lack of one wasn't an issue since the room was quite warm. It was equipped with both a fan and air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable environment. One of the highlights was the beautiful garden area. Each room on the first floor has a set of chairs outside, providing a lovely spot to relax. Wi-Fi is included, which is a great perk. However, I would recommend noting that breakfast is not included when booking through Hotels.com, and it costs around $8 USD if you choose to purchase it. The hotel is situated in a bustling area with plenty of restaurants, shopping options, and familiar franchise eateries nearby. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would definitely consider returning in the future.

Very friendly helpful staff. Very good Costa Rican style breakfast served in beautiful courtyard. Rooms were fairly simple with ceiling fan and one extra fan as well as bathroom. The ceiling fan worked well enough that we didn't use the extra fan even though the day temperature was approximately 35C.

I checked into the hotel on my way to the airport the next morning and leave area. This was a great option, very Central, and it is easy to get a taxi to the airport for around $15 if you tell them to use the meter.

No air-con means it can be a bit uncomfortable at night. Fan in room. Cold shower but very refreshing given the heat. Room small and basic but absolutely fine for a one night stay. Good restaurant next door recommended by owner. Breakfast great. Garden/bar area to sit and relax. Staff lovely and very helpful. Would recommend.

En general fue buena, lo unico malo fue el calor y las habitaciones deben de estar mas climatizadas. Porque fue un calor exagerado que no descanse bien.

We arrived early for check in and were welcomed to stay till the room was ready. The staff brought us glasses of ice water, since we looked pretty cooked. This is in an older hotel in an older part of town. The room was very small, but all we needed. It was easy to walk to places to eat and there was a lovely park just a couple of blocks away.Very quiet at night. The staff was superb! Really helpful. The place was super clean and the food was delicious. A more authentic Costa Rican experience than the bigger hotels.

Room actually exceeded our expectations. Clean hotel with a comfortable bed in an air conditioned bedroom. Swimming pool and area was nice however we were not always able to use the facilities whenever we wanted because others were smoking and both my wife and I are allergic to cigarette smoke. The breakfast was adequate with coffee, fruit plate and then a choice of three other items. Hotter water in the shower would be nice. Very close to the market and a grocery store. Bottom line, we would stay there again. We were there for a week.

Since our plane left early and we had been staying in Samara, we needed a place for the night. The staff arranged transportation for us to Catarina Llamas de Cortes, and to the airport. They even packed a container of fruit for us to take in the morning when we left at 5:15 a.m. It is central to downtown, the park and places to eat. The garden area is beautiful! The only drawbacks for us were a cold shower and warm room. There were fans, and actually the cold shower would be fine taken mid-afternoon! We would return. Clean and friendly!
