Charlie and chris were very kind, welcoming, and friendly to this family run hotel, which is strategically located near the train station and the wonderful thermal baths. The room was a good size, had a nice balcony, and at only 5 euros, the excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast was a real bargain. Chris gave us excellent advice on places to visit and even drove us to the train station when we left. We have been extensively traveling through Germany, and the hotel schmidt gave us the warmest welcome of all. We heartily recommend staying here.

I stayed at the Hotel Schmidt for three nights during a week when it is impossible to get a hotel in based without spending a fortune. I was rather pleasantly delighted by what I had in mind. The accommodations are adequate, and they are foremost clean and well maintained. I stayed in room 30 and my colleague in room 31, these rooms are in a different building, which is not recommended if you're a light sleeper because they're very close to the railway line and the first train is about 05. 30. The main hotel is farther from the line, so there is no issue with noise. Breakfast is excellent, and there is plenty of good coffee with it. Most importantly, entry into base is simple. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the train station, 20 minutes to enter the badbahnhof, and from there, you can take a tram to any part of the city. There are some good local restaurants for the evening, and I ate some of the best steak I have ever had at the hotel Schwanen. If you have the chance, the spa and volcanic spring waters in Bad Bellingen are both described to be excellent There are Ethernet cables in the rooms for the internet, so bring a converteradapter, they do keep usb adapters at the front desk if you forget. I would return to this hotel.

Hotel Schmidt is a good alternative to the nearby, less expensive Swiss hotel. It serves a good breakfast, but unfortunately there is no restaurant. Also, we lacked wifi. You can connect to the internet with a wire device, but not with an ipad, iPhone, etc. The swimming pool is only open at certain times.
