Fabulous stylish budget option close to Vik, easy to explore east and west from. Very welcome relief from the massive price tag that does with exploring Iceland but still so comfortable, safe and enjoyable. Staff were all lovely and helpful. The facilities are all beautifully appointed. The dorm rooms have incredibly comfortable high quality mattresses and linen, with black out curtains and storage areas… charges and lighting in each pod…our dorm was full and yet everyone was so quiet and respectful… we stayed 2 nights and slept really well, ate well using the fabulous communal kitchen and dining, watched the World Cup soccer in the communal bar/lounge and overall enjoyed our stay…. Long days out exploring and great sleep. We are in our late 50s… and many other dorm guests were similar or older … this is not a ‘youth’ hostel’ there were all ages staying and enjoying it without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!

The Barn was very comfortable and super Clean - my first time in a hostel. Location is gorgeous and the rooms were clean. The kitchen was super organized and felt like home. Staff was really kind and helpful- would stay here again for sure!

Eine der besten Unterkünfte unserer gesamten Reise! Wir verbrachten zwei Nächte in den privaten Zimmern mit eigenem Bad direkt neben dem Haupthaus die Zimmer waren modern eingerichtet, großzügig und mit sehr bequemen Betten. Die Zimmer lassen sich hervorragend abdunkeln, perfekt im Sommer. Das Haupthaus begeisterte mit einer großen, voll ausgestatteten Küche mit Herd, Ofen, Kaffeemaschine, alles vorhanden. Ideal zum Selbstkochen! Die Lage direkt am berühmten Reynisfjara-Strand ist unschlagbar, der Supermarkt in Vík nur ca. 10 Minuten entfernt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder. The Barn ist eine absolute Empfehlung!

I loved my stay at the Barn! I am not usually a fan of shared dorms in hostels which is why I loved the private room option here with the shared bath. The facilities were clean and well maintained. There was a huge kitchen with lots of supplies for cooking which made is super convenient to save money on food. The rooms themselves were super clean/nice and plenty of space for our luggage. The bathrooms were clean and private, never had an issues with having to wait for people either. Downstairs they offered drinks, food and breakfast for purchase in a shared common area which was also nice. I felt super safe here and receptionist were there to help if you needed anything. Free parking and easy place to find! Would 10/10 recommend staying here if you have the chance!

Très grosse auberge de jeunesse. Nous avions pris une chambre double, confortable et propre. Cuisine commune fonctionnelle et très bien équipée pour le nombre de chambre. 2 salles de bain communes propres à l'étage. Service à la réception agréable. Un peu cher mais bon rapport qualité-prix.

Die Aussicht war mega!!!! Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit eigenem Bad - es war ein kleiner Bungalow..... einfach phantastisch. Es fehlte an nichts. Senseo Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, kleiner Kühlschrank, separater Heizofen, Fön und Verdunklungsrollo... wundervoll für Nordlichteraufnahmen. Nach Vik ca. 6 Minuten. Im Haupthaus kann gekocht werden in einer schönen großen Küche. Sehr gut ausgestattet. Alles sehr sehr sauber..... und mega freundlich

Experiência legal de hostel, tudo limpo, arrumado, organizado, instalações em boas condições, cozinha completa, banheiros bons, quartos confortáveis, funcionários tranquilos e educados, área de convivência bacana, boa localização, interior e exterior muito bonitos. Conseguimos ver uma aurora linda bem na porta do hostel. Recomendo!

Lage, Ausstattung und Sauberkeit 10/10! Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer und haben uns zwei Badezimmer mit 8 Doppelzimmer geteilt. Die Bäder waren super modern und sauber. Es gab auch eine riesige Küche, in der man wirklich alles hatte zum Kochen. Das einzige was etwas nervig war, waren die Türen. Die waren super laut beim Öffnen und Schließen, es war generell eher hellhörig. Aber für eine Nacht hat trotzdem alles super gepasst.

Beautiful property, everything is new and modern. We enjoyed our stay here. Keep in mind, it is a hostel style property and was a little more noisy, even in our private room, as other guests were moving about the hallways and closing doors all night to use the bathroom and such. It was not bad at all, just something that should probably be expected at this type of property. With that being said, we would certainly stay here again.
