We had a nice stay at Guesthouse Edinberg, room was clean, upstairs had refrigerator, kitchen with sink and stove top, comfortslve couches tables and chairs and an old galaxy game, no quarters needed. We needed code to get into our room which was provided to us in the message section of our hotel app. The listing says it would be emailed to us but that is where I found it. There were several other people arriving that did not receive their access code which caused a lot of stress. There is no reception desk at this property and no one answers the phone number provided. If this issue can be resolved it would have a much higher rating

Cute area snuggled in a valley. Northern lights danced behind the mountain. Check in was very easy. Room was simple and efficient. Unfortunately a strong sewer smell was the first thing you notice as you walk in. If you kept the bathroom door closed in the bedroom the smell lightened almost unnoticable.

Walk inside to get landline, door was unlocked. IF you can check in, all is well. Attempted to stay at starlight camping pods owned by same property 2 days later and that did not go well. Location is lovely, close to Seljavallalaug swimming pool. Cute brindled cows next door. However, little to no cell phone service in this area. On 17th landline worked; successfully got code for rooms at guesthouse. By message, codes were not sent til the 18th aka the day of check-out, so that didn’t help. That was unhelpful but innocuous at first. Then they sent that picture to expedia as "proof" of check-in codes at Starlight Camping Pods for the 19th… which were never sent nor did the landline work nor did the phone get answered when we finally gave up and drove out until an area of cell service coverage. thank god we found another place to stay (drove all the way to the city) instead of trying and waiting all night because they were never sent. no refund. Because non refundable, I would understand if WE had canceled. But I asked for money back because we were literally unable to check in and they literally left us in the cold. They said no. all in all I think it would have been lovely if you are able to check in. But I can’t say that is reliable.

New bungalows with beautiful decoration in a lovely environment at the foot of the mountain and facing the sea. Tranquility guaranteed. And very clean. However, the kettle and toaster did not work. The heating in the bedroom was full of air and didn't cool the room, making a lot of noise at night.

Despite the fact that it looks like a lovely cabin from the outside, the room was quite good. If you try to access the cabinet in the corner, the bathroom is dirty, the beds are uncomfortable, and you can almost hit the to or ceiling. The breakfast service wasn't particularly good either. If you can't find another place, a day or two on your way to another place would be sufficient.

Le code fourni pour obtenir la clé n'était pas le bon. Personne ne répondait au numéro indiqué pou obtenir de l'aide. Finalement un jeune homme s'est pointé pour régler la situation. La télé de la salle commune ne fonctionnait pas. Mais l'endroit était très propre. Une cuisine et une aire de jeux sont disponibles à l'étage.

We stayed for one night during our Ring road trip. It was a convenient location and we had a good night sleep in the guesthouse. The only downside is the showers are extremely small and difficult for an adult to fit into. But the beds were comfortable and the common room upstairs was well equipped, so no major complaints for the price.

Basic clean room with small en-suite bathroom. Large communal lounge/rec-room/kitchen area with refrigerator, kettle, a couple of hotplates and a microwave. TV. Awesome views of the glacier. An easy 30 minute drive to Vik. There are a couple of cafes nearby but we didn’t investigate those, just saw the signs. The reason I said the staff is terrible is that there aren’t any. You have to call ahead for the room number and lockbox code. Nobody answered so if there had not been a cleaner onsite who helped us to get in touch with the property manager we would not have been able to get into our rooms!!!

The place was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Did have to email the owners to receive a code for our room but they responded almost immediately which was nice. Beautiful location!
