Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. Close by some amazing Jain temples of the 16 century. Our bed was a swinging bed that made our stay even more special.

Located just next to the magnificent Jain temple in Ranakpur, the Fateh Bagh is a great choice. The hotel is an old havelli that has been removed from northern Rajasthan and moved to Ranakpur. The result is really quite nice and the hotel is very well organized. The food is great, the breakfast buffet is wonderful and the staff is attentive. We visited on an indian holiday and the pool was filled with a dozen Indian kids on holiday with their families. Noisy but festive on this occasion. The rooms are pleasant and modern and the gardens are lovely.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a beautiful and peaceful area. The room was large and nicely equipped with a lovely shower and all the amenities you would expect of a more expensive hotel. We had a bit of a problem with the light in the bathroom but it was fixed immediately when brought to their attention. Only negative is that the breakfast is not included and it is quite expensive compared to other hotels. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was very good but, again, relatively expensive. Service was a bit too attentive but probably because the restaurant was empty. It also has a nice bar area. The pool is lovely, as are the grounds.

On our third consecutive holiday to India and second holiday to Rajasthan, the Fateh Bagh proved to be a highlight. The service was friendly and personal; the rooms were charming and full of character; the location is beautiful, and well placed for both the temples at Ranakpur (a must! our second visit and they surpassed our memory), and the fantastic fort at Kumbalgargh. It is a tranquil and peaceful place where relaxation comes guaranteed. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is situated between Sadari and Ranakpur, not among the hills but not very far from them. It is on the bank of a river, though being down-stream of a dam, there is little prospect of water in the river. Being a palace, the building is imposing but charming with extensive gardens. Room that we stayed in was neat, with period furniture. It was OK but not one would expect from hotel this pricy. The AC was little noisy, window type. Bathroom was a late addition to the original room with a rather bad design. As an example, the towel rack in was right above the commode! The shower curtain opened behind the commode! The dresser in the room did not have a light! Then there were minor irritants. They do not provide even a single mineral water bottle, or a pair of bathroom slippers. The DTH from Sun TV provided only one or two English or sports channels. Again, not a show stopper, but definitely an irritant. Staff is very cooperative and service is excellent. They took the trouble of packing our breakfast at 6:15 in the morning! Food quality is reasonable. Overall, good but not great and definitely not value for money.

The service staff were great. However the hotel is not maintained in line with its stature as a hertiage property. The prices paid were in line with a five sar property but the maintenance standards were of a three star property.

Although it is easy to imagine the magnificence of this hotel 'once upon a time' -- it is far from the status quo however. There is plenty of staff - mostly walking around somewhat aimlessly. The food was the worst we had throughout our entire 10 day stay in India, the staff was not helpful and the room although clean could use a lot of work with the drapes being stained, the blanket grimy and the tea kettle stinky. The accommodations are simply is not worth the cost! We were eager to leave.

All show and no go. A fake palace. remnants of an old palace were attached here and there to make it look authentic, but it was clearly cinder block construction, built in 2000. Everything looked luxurious. A bathtub, but no hot water. A huge dining room with one tour group and a couple of other guests, yet there's a wait staff of 5 men hovering around our table being awkward, pretending to be a high end restaurant. It's depressing. The internet also was too weak to use and the staff at the front desk barely spoke english when we called down. For $70 a night not including breakfast, we at least expected to be able to take a bath or shower. the bed was great though, the room quiet and they brought a heater when we asked for it. very comfortable room.

Did not like the experience at all, first of all the manager over booked the hotel. So the manager instead of being honest told us that he can upgrade our rooms to suits for Rs. 1000.00 per room, we did not show any interest , so he came down to Rs. 1000.00 for two rooms and than to Rs.500.00. We insisted not to upgrade . As he had no delux rooms left he had to give us one suit room for nothing. Food was not so good, so was breakfast. There was no complimentary water bottle in the rooms. There was even charge for water during dinner and breakfast ( not mineral water). The so called double bed was infect joined two single beds with two single mattresses , which was not comfortable at all. The TV was not working at all, they kept trying to fix it, which was annoying. It was not worth to stay for the charges
