I had to write this review after reading the stupid 1 from Wildroversackboy. What his expectations were I don't know he was staying in a century tower house and complained about the steep staircase did he expect a lift. All I know is that we received a warm welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely. Forgo Fontanini is ideally located for Bologna and Moment, as well as exploring the Apennines, with great peace and quiet in between.

In early October, my husband, my son, and I from Australia, who live in Forgo Fontanini, stayed at Casa forte and fell in love with this lovely location. Our journey to Italy will always be cherished by those watching the evening sunsets from the outdoor patio while sipping a bottle of wine in a peaceful valley setting. Our trip was dominated by the all-day cooking class hosted by the owner and host, Silvia, which was a highlight. On the last day, we went to a shared story, wine, and excellent food. Our son is now hooked on the pasta machine, and she was incredibly wonderful with our son because she was a wonderful father. Silvia is knowledgeable about local eateries and hiking trails and patiently assisted me in improving my Italian. She has delicious and local honey available for sale. We appreciated Casa forte's gorgeous decor and warmth, with all we required during our stay. There are small towns with nearby eateries and small shops as well as small supermarkets in the vicinity. On day trips, we went to Moment, Bologna, and the two ferrari museums, but we would like to spend more time in the smaller villages the following time. We really didn't want to leave this beautiful location and would love to return to spend more time with Silvia, Aldo, and Key the dog.

It's strange at first sight for someone who is from a busy city! I can say it's a little far from the surrounding area, city, etc. But who says you want to be close? Of course, you need a car. There are some excellent places to eat within a 5-minute drive. It's a little scary when you're late from parking to the house, but you must not be late to see the sunset! Thank you, Aldo and Silvia, for easing my loneliness until they could enjoy it until the very first minute.

We were a group of 10 Americans celebrating a birthday. We spent two weeks at the castle. Our hosts, Silvia, Aldo, and Key the Dog, were fantastic during our stay. They allowed us to enjoy ourselves with freedom and privacy, but they were always available when we requested. Silvia prepared delectable homemade dishes for us upon request, introduced us to Italian wines, led us on amazing hikes with local guides, interpreted for us when needed, and gave us countess tips for excursions and local events. The truffle festival was excellent fun. The castle is within walking distance of the very little town of Montembrero, and the somewhat larger town of Cocoa is within short driving distance. Both have local markets and stores. However, be warned of the midday closures starting at around 14 p.m. The castle was very well filled with everything we needed, including kitchen supplies to large, fluffy bath towels. The sunsets and views from the outdoor seating and picnic area were breathtaking. We wholeheartedly endorse this location.

My girlfriend and I visited cocoa for a few days and were able to get on for good by bouncing into this lovely place a comfortable corner in the heart of the moments surrounding hills with an old medieval tower where we sleep inside and a stunning view terrace where we can taste the delicious locally grown foods and wine for a perfect brunch. You can also take cooking lessons if you want the atmosphere is rare and relaxed and the manors are very nice and well organized. I heartily recommend this lovely location!.
