The hostel is a 15minute walk from either aoto or keisei takasago train stations, and a shorter 5minute walk to the nearest bus stop that leads south to the seaside and tokyo Disneyland. A nice budget backpacker hostel style accommodation in a quiet part of tokyo city. J, the owner, is friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome during my stay.

This is spartan lodging. The location is a bit far from the station and city center, and there isnt a convenience store nearby. The rooms are small, the bathroom isnt very clean. But at this price, what did you expect? As in most guest houses, you get what you pay for, and in this case you didnt pay much, so dont complain. This guest house is not for tourists or families. Its best enjoyed if you know japan and dont expect anything more than a bed and some company. If you speak the language, the owner may take you on a daydrinking tour around ueno. This guesthouse is therefore recommended to seasoned backpackers and young people who like to keep things simple. Tourists, families, and those looking for a comfortable stay should stop trying to save every penny and book a real hotel, otherwise you will be disappointed.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The guesthouse is conveniently located near the beach and the city center, yet its still quite far enough away to enjoy a peaceful stay. Its not a bad price, but it is definitely worth considering. Please be aware that the stairs to our room were quite steep, so if you have trouble walking, you may need to request a groundfloor room.
