Salt Lick Game Lodge

This lodge is located in the heart of the private Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary bordering Tsavo West National Park in south eastern Kenya, 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa. The sanctuary is a 3-hour drive from Mombasa and a 6-hour drive from Nairobi on tarmac roads. The beach is some 2 km from the residence. The lodge is a truly unique concept consisting of rooms elevated on stilts, each overlooking a waterhole and linked by suspended walkways. At night, the waterholes are floodlit ensuring an uninterrupted view of the numerous animals arriving to quench their thirst. Comprising 96 guest rooms, the air-conditioned establishment features a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, lift access, a children's playground, a kids' club, a bar and a restaurant. It also offers wireless Internet access, room and laundry services and a car park. All rooms are en suite and equipped with a shower, hairdryer, double or king-size beds, a direct dial telephone and satellite/cable TV. They additionally feature Internet access, a safe and a kitchen with minibar and fridge. Guests can enjoy their private balcony or terrace. The lodge provides an outdoor swimming pool. Refreshments are served at the poolside snack bar and massages are available. The elevated restaurant and the bar a level higher offer stunning views of the sanctuary and the ideal vantage points to view game. No public transport is available to the lodge. It is a one-hour flight from Nairobi or 30 minutes by charter flight from Mombasa to the airstrip located at the lodge.
