This is the second ancient hotel in ethiopia. It celebrated its 70 th anniversary of service a few years ago. Its historic importance and convenient location have made it the first choice among many travelers. When nelson mundela of south africa came to ethiopia to receive military training, he stayed at this hotel and the second floor is named after him. The room he slept in is also named after him and the most expensive among the others. Nelson mlandela clearly stated this in his book Long walk to freedom on page 78. The hotel has free wifi, reasonably priced room rates, 24hour front office support, a bar, national and international bars, and plenty of parking. Souvenir shops, business centers, and atms are also available within the compound. Bank headquarters are steps away, and government offices, airlines, and bus ticket offices are all around the hotel.

The buffet and employees are decent, but not the best. The event hall and its ancient look are admirable. For an old hotel from the past, it can be made better without losing its charm.

I had the fish goulash for the first time in 35 years, but it was nothing special. I also had a delicious slice of fasting pound cake and fasting macchiato. I had a great time today.

It is one of the best hotels ive stayed at in ethiopia. The service was somewhat disappointing. If they improve customer service it will be the best in addis ababa.

Ive been going here for the last 28 years because it is my dads favorite place, or it was his favorite place. They have good food, not tasty ice cream but large and cheap if you are into quantity. Their rooms are always under construction. I hope they modernize it as it is very old and boring.

Cheap but complicated hotel with very long corridors and very difficult to carry bags. Good restaurant with good internet. Average hygiene but my room had a bathtub instead of a shower. Service is slow but honest.

Hotel dengan lokasi yang bagus namun kualitas buruk. Air mandi biasanya dingin. Sarapan dengan layanan sangat lambat dan staf tidak berbicara bahasa Inggris. Harganya hanya menutupi kualitas buruknya.

A respectable, wellmanaged, and historic hotel in addis that is ideal for a budget stay. The family room, which can accommodate 4 to 5 people for 800 birr, is the greatest option. A feature that is uncommon in budget hotels in addis is a continuous hot water supply and a complimentary breakfast.

In the first week of this year, i spent about three weeks at the ras hotel. I had previously stayed here, and for the price i was charged, i received firstrate service. The entire crew has been incredibly competent, cordial, and trustworthy. The hotel was undergoing renovations inside, much like before. The walls were also tastefully decorated, and the floors in the hallway were replaced by shimmering white ceramic tiles. The bathrooms and showers are updated, the rooms have comfortable beds, the bathrooms are updated, the wooden floors in the rooms are replaced with new ones, and an indoor plant is placed at the corner of the room and in several locations in the hallway to provide extra oxygen to customers. The service at the restaurant and bar was excellent as it was before. The varendas shades under the canopy still offer their usual refreshing service unhindered by the expansion of the main road. For all the services mentioned, i always choose to stay here, as well as for its proximity to my family and friends, and its central location. From here, you can reach every favorite spot in the city. I hope the new owners will continue to provide such service at a reasonable cost. Having said that, the wifi service was excellent, but the room should have a tv with a slightly larger screen size. Last but not least, the intercom in the room was broken, but i was informed that it was temporarily. Thank you all! Getachew.
