In some respects, this is the best road we have ever stayed on. The grounds are spacious, with a large pool and beautifully landscaped. The room was spacious and well shaped. You could move around and the heat worked. There were chairs to sit on and a table to use. The only downside was the lack of hot enough water for a shower in the evening, although it was much hotter in the morning and the towels felt like coarse sandpaper. But the bed was comfortable and the staff was, as usual, friendly and welcoming. Apart from that, I dont think there is much of a choice in this area.

Our room at Dar Azawad was rustic and charming. No fridge or complimentary water, the bed and bathroom were also fine. The breakfast menu is not so good and there are so many options. The wifi is also bad, except in reception.

This must have been the jewel of the sahara in its prime, but it is now looking a little shabby and in need of some maintenance. It's just the little things, like the grass growing in patches or kneehigh. The paint is peeling off everything, there is a wobbly flagstone, which everybody stands on, it would take minutes to fix, but no one seems to care. As for our room, the interior decor was really nice, but the main shower head was clogged and unusable, the ac did not work, and the bed was as hard as a rock, all easily sorted but not. The cost of a room is expensive in Morocco, and charging top rates and providing mirage is not good for repeat business or reputation. Having said that, the hotel is still charming and in such a great location, and we did enjoy our stay here. The staff is friendly, the food was excellent, and the view from the desert's roof is amazing. I would sincerely love to give this hotel a better review, but I can't.
