Wrecking facility with breathtaking views of Mount Cook. Multiple activities are organized in the Alpine Center. Very large and elaborate breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Comfortable beds. Bathrooms are relatively small. In the middle of nowhere and no local transportation is available. Beautiful and big bar with amazing views. A small cafe also serves lunch. If I am lucky enough to go back to no, I will definitely stay here again. Back on my bucket list.

I had a fantastic experience at The Hermitage at it Cook. Six months later, I reserved a top-notch room and asked for level 10. The room and bathroom were both roomy. The great view out the window is breathtakingly beautiful. It is a privilege to stay in a hotel in this setting. You pay for a hotel in one of the world's top national parks. Yes, the hotel is a little antiquated, but it is still very good. This isn't a city cod where new hotels are constructed every few years, but it is still excellent. New Zealanders were not all that pleased. The staff is pleasant and efficient, and they work hard. Again, you should take into account that this is a hotel in a remote location, and the personnel can be troublesome occasionally. We never had a single issue. I ate here for two nights. Yes, it is a buffet, but it is way above standard one. Ice cream, cheese, and coffee for 65 rp is very reasonable. We had dinner here on two nights. It was excellent, yes, there are buffets at home, but they are too much above average. It costs $65. We had dinner at 5.30 and 7.30. The alpine restaurant is good, and hotel guests should have better seats as they should. The parking is the only minor drawback because it is both for

The room on the top floor was spacious, in good condition and had a large bathroom. The shower was over the bath but not too high a step in it. The other areas of the resort were also well kept. Our package included breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. This was provided as a smorgasbord which made for easy spread of covid 19. There were many bus groups staying at the resort. Some would have been bringing passengers from cruise ships. There was a lack of hand sanitizer in the restaurant area and few people were wearing masks while serving their food. Some staff wore masks but many didn't. The last part of our journey around the south island was marred when my partner and I contracted couid. The timing fits with having been exposed during our stay at it cook. I contacted the hotel about lack of safe couid prevention practices and was told they were following government requirements. That might be true but how much better it would be given the number of people using their restaurant if masks were recommended in the buffet area and hand sanitizer at the tables.
