The staff was very friendly and informative about the area. The bedroom had comfortable beds and the shower was simple to use. The breakfast provided was from a wonderful menu. I had their large breakfast, a difficult act to follow. A residence that can't be beat.

The breakfast was delicious and the location was very strategic, the location is just a short stroll to the town, but it's uphill to come back! There is secure guest off street parking. Definitely recommended.

Definitely recommend. Wonderful night at karen and micks lovely historic home, which is situated on a hill just above Kaikouras westside esplanade. The location couldnt be more convenient, tenminutes to the esplanade, and just a fiveminute slow trip to the spectacular walking trails on the Kaikoura Peninsula. Our seal room was very comfortable. We were treated to stunning views of the Kaikoura Ranges and Singles Bay through spacious double folding windows. Breakfast was superb and included eggs benedict and florentine, as well as English breakfasts, both meat and vegetarian versions. Our breakfast company was even better, with lots of good conversation. Karen and Mick are friendly, upbeat hosts who made us feel at ease.

Overall really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. We stayed at the Nina Lodge in Kaikoura on our honeymoon. Mick and Karen were very nice hosts and made a great breakfast. Room and view are great and very valuable to the town.

I would not suggest the Nina Lodge to my family and friends, as they would be well taken care of by the proprietors karen and mick. From the minute we met karen at the front desk to the moment I shook hands with her husband mick on our departure two days later, this establishment was outstanding. I shared a twin room, which was spotless and clean as was the bathroom, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We had the full English breakfast every morning, one of a variety of options, which was well prepared with proper sausages. Karen was quite helpful, giving directions to restaurants and a ticket.
