Its a 15 minute walk from the train station to this clean, basic European business hotel. Parking in their underground garage can be problematic because they only have two key jobs to open the gate and have to be returned to the front desk after use. Its a couple of blocks from here to walk around the main pedestrian street calle mayor principal for other shopping and dining options. They offer free wireless internet but I could only connect reliably in the lobby and not in my 3 rdfloor room. Don't plan on sleeping late, the nearby church bell will wake you up. Staff in English.

On the way to Samoa, we stayed here. Although quite secure, the underground parking lot is locked. The front desk staff is kind, albeit their English is limited. The room doesn't have tea making facilities. Nice and warm bed but it is made up by bolsters rather than pillows, so we fought over it all night long. While we were over the main road, it was serene all night until they started emptying the garbage outside at an ungodly hour. Overall, a fantastic night's sleep. Breakfast is rather disappointing because it's all pastry or bread served behind the bar, so you must tell the bartender what you want. Also, there is no fruit. The coffee is excellent, but both of us took over before we left. I can't describe it average because it wasn't expensive and I chose excellent, it's somewhere between the two.

I have a good experience when staying here. Being able to find this hotel because dog friendly accommodations are not available in Spain. However, dogs are not allowed in public areas, so be prepared to eat and drink outdoors. Because there are tapas bars nearby in this gorgeous city, it shouldn't be a problem. The only issue we had was getting the car back in the morning. Because the underground parking garage is quite secure, and the key I received at the front desk could not open the large steel grill.

The location is a short walk from the ferry station in Salander. The hotel room was comfortable but basic. The balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard with plants, pathways and patterned bricks was the highlight. Breakfast was fine. Secure parking was available for around 9 euros per night. To get there, it was very stressful as you couldn't turn in to drop your bags and the parking lot was underground and shared with other buildings, so the passage of vehicles meant you couldn't wait near it while dropping bags. The receptionist was incredibly helpful in helping to ease these problems.

I'm not sure why they referred to this location as an old castle, as it is in what seems to be an apartment complex. Yet it is suitable for a few nights with reasonable, paid underground parking and a reasonably central location. For the price, the rooms are huge and clean, the bathroom is a reasonable size, and the breakfast is a decent one. In terms of value for the money, it's a fair bet that there is no character as such and no old castle! Yet really comfy and reasonably priced.
