After a lengthy backpack trip in the pyreneans, we ended up in Panticosa on a chilly evening. When we dont go backpacking, we usually stay in nearby campgrounds. Yet when we saw the license hotel and needed a break, we walked in. We first met Jaime, the proprietor, and went to a room and immediately realized we had discovered a wilderness for hikers. This modest, familyrun hotel is conveniently situated next to the main road yet just a short walk from the village. The rooms are simple but tastefully clean and cozy. They are also peaceful and overlooking the river, with lovely views of the village directly below and the ski slope beyond. Most importantly, Jaime is a fount of information about the pyrenean. He grew up in Panticosa and began climbing as a child alongside his father, who eventually handed the hotel to him. Although a hotelier by trade, Jaime is a blackest mountaineer who adores the pyrenean, has a keen knowledge of the pyrenean, and eagerly shares his knowledge with hotel guests looking to hike. Next time we ski Panticosa, will stay again. Get away from the main town and get the stunning panoramic view of the town. You can either walk down to the gondola through twisty cobbled streets or take the mini train which runs every hour, all part of the fun. Nice sized bedrooms, well heated and plenty of hot water, ideal for a hot bath after a day's activities. Good continental breakfast in the morning and the owner is very friendly.

I stayed for 1 night in the 150912 hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful, this hotel has good value for money with a great breakfast, we will stay here again.

I can certainly recommend this hotel. If we come back to this location, we will definitely stay here again. We just got back from a skiing trip at the license hotel. We had a family room because we had our 8-year-old daughter. It was very spacious, spotless, and lovely. The hotel's proprietor was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. We chose the free breakfast here, which was adequate but basic.

The hotel is the best in town in this regard given it's position at the highest part of the village. The hotel has stunning valley views and is undoubtedly the most convenient choice when visiting at the end of the season. Nevertheless, formal is only a short drive from this charming village. Because of the large number of groups visiting, all rooms are twin, and while they are very basic, they were clean and comfy. Considering that the resort was only open on weekends, we had to ski from outside the town in Formal instead of Panticosa because we were here at the end of the season. The owner, Jaime, was quite helpful and fluent in English. He was very knowledgeable about the best spots to ski and clearly passionate about the area. Bravos for welcoming.
