I can't imagine there being a better place in Galle. Peaceful. Quiet. Lovely owner. She was so nice to us, my wife was pregnant and even let us stay a bit longer whilst we waited for our taxi as she wasn't feeling well. What a lovely human being! We were welcomed with drinks and a hotel towel. Breakfast was amazing. Staff are really nice. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The place is wonderful, the hosts and staff are very kind and attentive and the food is delicious. In sum, a perfect start of our holidays! We therefore highly recommend the Niyagama House and will definitely come back when we are in Sri Lanka again.

I stayed at the Niyagama House for 5 nights. It was initially supposed to be 4 nights but I was having such a great time I extended an extra night. A friend of mine had recommended it as a great place to unwind, so I knew what to expect, but what I experienced was a lot more than I expected. What a place! The house is set in a beautiful tea plantation. the rooms are beautifully decorated. It has a beautiful pool and a lovely dining area with amazing views of the beautifully manicured garden and the tea plantation. The food served everyday was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, always aiming to provide a 1st class service. I didn’t get to meet the owner Elke as she was away. Her replacement was a lovely lady called Ewa. Ewa took the Morning 1.5-2 hour yoga/ meditation classes and a few evening we go on to the roof and experiment with different medication methods at dusk. The classes were all provided to accommodate the people in the class, they were fun and I learnt a lot from Ewa. She also provided a great Thai massage which I had never had before. I have a stressful life in London, and this stay was exactly what I needed to help me unwind, restored and refreshed. I would highly recommend Niyagama for a relaxed yoga and meditation retreat get away destination. It is also a 20 minutes tuk tuk ride from historic town Galle and also easy access to beaches.

We spent 6 nights in a luxurious room( great bed) in a tranquil, beautiful location on a small tea plantation. The staff were wonderful, food very high standard including authentic local dishes. The location is amazing but close enough to the sea and beaches, 20 mins by Tuk Tuk taxi ( under £5 each way) to enjoy all the area has to offer. Highly recommend, it is a hidden gem !

Niyagama House is a fantastic boutique hotel with excellent staff who offer a very personal touch. The food is great, the pool is amazing and the yoga lessons are top notch! If you are after a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Galle then this place is for you.

Beautiful tranquil hotel within within easy reach of Galle. Friendly staff, fabulous food (specially the 'Curries of the Day' - order 1 hour in advance), and a great massage. One of the best hotels anywhere in the world that we have ever stayed in... and a perfect start to our trip round Sri Lanka.

Niyagama House was absolutely amazing and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is looking for some much needed R&R. Elke and her team did everything to ensure everything we could possibly need was taken care of. The location, accommodation and food was superb. If you are into Yoga then the aerial class was brilliant and a lot of fun!

Einfach nur traumhaft schön. Leider wurden wir nicht informiert, dass während unseres Aufenthalts kein Yoga angeboten wird.

A fantastic boutique hotel with a wonderful host, great pool and sublime food. Great for escaping the world and doing some yoga surrounded by birds, monkeys and unspoilt views. There are many things to do in the area that the charming staff will help arrange for you. The food is seriously good and very reasonably priced. Rooms aren't huge but they are individually decorated with four posted beds. No TV in the rooms but you won't miss it. Massages can be arranged and they are very competently done and cheap when compared to other hotels in Sri Lanka.

Perfect place to chill, excellent hosts and so relaxing, great pool. Shame no facility for making tea/coffee in room. Evening meal on first night a bit underwhelming, but excellent on second night- not sure which is norm. Very good breakfast. Wi-fi unreliable to non existent, even in public areas - but then that’s not why you stay here, although frustrating if you need to make forward plans. Would have stayed longer!!

Looks nice and definitely out of the way which I already was aware of. However they did not have simple amenities like toothbrushes or bedroom slippers which you expect for paying so much. Even the fan was not working and they didn’t give us a duvet until we had to ask for it. Transport to the city area was not provided free which probably should have been. Appreciated the hospitality but won’t be back again..
