Friendly staff, clean rooms, pool with good upkeep and generally tidy grounds. Can't really complain about anything major. Even if it's not exactly 5-star accommodation they are making a good effort to cater to the needs of westerners. The restaurant has plenty of ambience and again the staff is friendly but the service is slow (this is endemic in Zanzibar though) and the breakfast selection is quite basic. The biggest knock is not their fault. The location is a good 15 minute walk from the nearest beach access point over unpaved roads in a sketchy, run-down area. Still, overall I don't regret it and would do it again. Beachfront properties are much more expensive but feel like fortresses isolating you from the townspeople and local culture.

Avoid this location. Rooms vary in standard, our friends were basic but fine, whereas ours had dirty marks on the wall, some questionable electrical safety, 3 sockets not working, leaking sink in the bathroom. The shower is powerful and hot but when it's put on the holder it just shoots at the ceiling so needs to be held in your hand. Beds comfortable enough. The pool itself is nice but the pool area is a bit worn out with dirty tiles and burst covers on the sun loungers. Breakfast is made fresh to order, average but works. Strangely, you need to pay for water at breakfast! The location is much farther from the beach than listed on the listing. 15 minutes according to google maps but roads are dirt tracks full of holes, mud and puddles, so it takes much longer. The local area is quiet during the day but seems to be a party place for locals at night. The icing on the cake is that the hotel bar plays nightclub level music till 3 or 1 am every night. The owner of the bar was very unhelpful and rude when we asked for it to be turned down. He told us just to check out if we didn't like it but unfortunately we had already paid for the whole stay. nightmare

The location is good and the drivers were very nice. You could only choose one item and they didn't stock it too much. The wifi in the room was bad but in the restaurant it was fine. The breakfast must be improved, and the cleanliness must be improved.

I couldn't tell if a star hotel in Zanzibar would have made a big difference. Quite attractive, comfortable, and clean. Also, there was a swimming pool, which is rare for hotels like these. Even for a small hotel, the price is a la carte breakfast. In the evenings, the bar in the restaurant is loud, and it's not a problem for me because the music stopping somewhere else. You have some privacy because the hotel and bungalow are separated by a barrier. There are Russian cuisine on the restaurant's menu. The hotel cleaned the room each day and changed the towels, unlike other hotels. The only thing that surprised me was the usd take, which no one told me at the beginning. It's nothing because at the end of my visit, I had no cash!.

I strongly recommend this place. The location is close to the village where you can buy sugar cane juice fresh and freshly sliced fruit. The room is nice and spacious with a refrigerator with freezer. I enjoyed sitting outside with a view of the garden. To our surprise, there were no mosquitoes. There is a fantastic swimming pool with refreshing water outside.

Sehr schöne Anlage mit einfachen, sauberen Bungalows. Gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis, auch im Restaurant. Mühsam ist leider der Weg zum Strand.
