I'll undoubtedly be back as soon as possible. We've stayed at this hotel twice in a year and were treated like family. The entire crew is first-rate, with a special thanks to george for really taking good care of us. The room was quite cozy, with a wonderful shower and a separate bathroom. The cuisine is of exceptional quality and uses innovative local ingredients to create fantastic dishes. Nothing better than a chilled white wine in the lovely garden. Take the opportunity to visit the kitchen garden and see how much progress has been made in producing local fruits and vegetables.

The location is close to the Hadrian Wall and breathtaking countryside. The hotel is in great shape, with contemporary touches in an otherwise stylish, traditional country house. The staff were excellent. Dinner was elegant and beautifully presented, especially the tasting menu which was a memorable experience. Most of the produce comes from the hotels own kitchen garden.

The first impression is that the room is very comfortable and well-appointed. We had a great time and will stay again.

Overall, everyone made me feel welcome and was attentive to my needs and I would definitely come back. One cannot ignore the effects of the last two years. The farm had already entered a transition period in 2019 and it seemed like it was returning to its best. It is a great property, the food is excellent and the staff is lovely, but right now, it just lacks that last bit of excitement, joie de vivre, and comfort in itself. The setting and gardens are lovely, and as it was once a local merchant's home, it immediately made you feel at home. I had a very useful conversation with the welcome manager both regarding my request for a walking guide and the hotel orientation. Phrases like reliable and quiet respect come to mind. Dinner was of high quality the first night, but I felt the staff was nervous and uninexperienced and the music playing did not quite come off. The unfortunate result was that there was a very strong smell of cooked lamb in the dining area the first night. On all the other occasions, cooking smells were absent so I did not raise them. Additionally, the personnel need to be a little more discreet. It is essential that they are a problem with management directly. I should point out they oozed cambrian charm to me, but it felt like an upstairsdownstairs moment with both on display. The second night, the F I manager was on duty and

Having visited the nearby Roman wall and staying in the clock house for three nights, we stayed here and had a great time. All of the local sights were close by, the location was ideal, we had a good time, the accommodations were excellent, and the food was fantastic. The brunch was excellent, but the highlight was the foraging dinner with multiple courses and wine pairings. It was by far the best meal weve ever had. The staffs assistance was outstanding, everyone was extremely kind and accommodating, and we even got to say hello to the chef! On the day we went out, we got a packed lunch that was excellent as well. We would have appreciated a little dresser in our room so we could store our clothes. Additionally, adding a small microwave in the kitchen would give us more flexibility. Overall, this is an excellent hotel, and well return with joy!.
