We had booked a hotel room for two adults two children at the Dorrington. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded and we had a two bedroom cottage for the same price! This was two minutes down the road and a lovely clean two bedroomed house! We were so pleased with it and would have loved to stay longer!

This hotel has been operated for several years and is a lovely building, but it has never really had a soul. The inside is clean and big, with good beer selections and a kingfisher on draft that is quite unique and very good. There is a cafe area of the building and the food looks good and, as I said, nice and clean. There is a nightclub close by, but I'm not sure how busy it will be in the current environment if it is still open. The accommodation is good, spotless, and reasonably priced with free parking. We have invited friends here and they have said it's fine, and breakfast is also fine and no problems. It's not a destination, but it's excellent for a pint or a snack or a stayover when you're in the area.

We stayed here while visiting my family this weekend down south. As soon as we arrived, we walked into the bar and were made to feel very welcome by the owner and all the nice staff. We had our dog with us, dogs are also very welcome here. The rooms are just perfect, well equipped, lovely double shower, comfortable bed, very clean. We booked breakfast the first morning, which was great. I have dairy allergies, and they did not have an issue. Soy milk and vegan butter are on offer. Excellent location in the city center. Thank you all, we will definitely book again for our next visit.

My daughters and grandchild just stayed here, and it was good, with a few problems that could have been better. I would suggest a fence of some kind to separate the cottage from the private homes and definitely install wifi, but it was a nice stay. For checkin, there were friendly employees at the bar, however be aware that the cottage is not behind the bar premises where the rooms are but behind the old police station, which is now converted into private homes. On our way to the cottage, which appears lovely and exact to the photos, I assume is living on private land, we were warned by a woman who I assume is living on the property that the garden was private property and we were not allowed to use it in a very unfriendly manner! Thus, their three-day stay got off to a terrible start! At first glance, the interior is lovely with modern furnishings and a sizable, roomy, modern kitchen with an additional little toiletwashroom off the kitchen space which was very useful. The main bedroom upstairs is spacious with a double derail for hanging your clothes, a large set of drawers, and two white fluffy towels on the bed. It is a truly gorgeous modern bathroom next to it with a shower, a modern loo basin, and heated wall-mounted towel rail. Finally, a twin room with white metalframed mattresses and spotless linentowels. Window

The room was neat and immaculately clean. The management staff, John, and bartender Shannon were only glad to help every way they could. The owner installed air conditioning in some of the rooms while I was away, making progress closer to realizing improvement. It was wonderful to have a decent breakfast provided, unlike the fast food breakfast provided in some of the chain hotels in the area. Sunday lunch was unrivaled, and I'm looking forward to my return in November.

Searching for a quiet and relaxed place to stay. As part of a local pub this is a good option. No problems with noise as rooms are based in separate location behind the pub.

The Dorrington has seen better days, but if you need a place to stay over night it’s prrfect. Cost is good. Decent breakfast in the morning. Friendly helpful staff, I got exactly what I paid for and am very happy with that

Good size family room , fairly clean , breakfast was a little sparse for choice , pub adjoining the property where breakfast was served was a bit grimy , staff were pleasant and helpful.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the guy in the room next door to us was blaring his TV at 230am and then gave me a mouthful when I asked him to turn it down. Luckily a member of staff was nearby and dealt with him. The bathroom was a little delapidated and needed a better clean

The room was good but overlooking the main road was noisy late at night and very early in the morning 5am. The breakfast was mediocre but the staff were good.

Only thing that spoilt our stay was the very loud music and very noisy guests returning to there rooms at 2.30 in the morning !

Boy racers ragging their cars outside, loud banging door on entry, and every evening a struggle for parking space. Spiders in the bathroom, and dirty silicone sealant with mould on it in the shower.

It was not ideal having to take all the kids into a bar to get booked in. The room itself was filthy, no table lamps and a green light was on in the room the whole night. It smelt like sewage in the bathroom and the heating didn’t work. No beds were made up for 2 of the guests and the pull out beds were broken. The light shades were broken it wasn’t great. The floors was sticky with stained carpet.

Staff friendly and helpful but on both nights there was lots of noise from council car park next to property. For hours there was wheel spinning cars, music, shouting etc on both nights. Got very little sleep.
