We only stayed here for 2 nights but it was nice. Within walking distance from everything and on a quiet street. The welcome drink was a nice perk. Room was a little small and wish they had a gym or pool but you can go out and explore the city. The gentleman who checked us in was fabulous (blonde/red head gay pleasant gentleman, can’t remember his name.

If you want to stay in the New Town part of Edinburgh, you can do no better than The Resident! The front desk staff was incredible and went out of the way to help us use the most of our time well. The room was serviced everyday, room service and free afternoon drinks were delightful, and local eateries were close by—and the hotel provided a discount for several of them. We were minutes from Princes Street with all of its shopping, and the galleries and museums were close by. Depending on your physical ability, getting to Old Town might be a challenge, but the trick is either to go through the train station or the gardens for the climb. The tram is also available as are many taxis. I’m sure if we return to Edinburgh we will choose The Resident again!

We stayed here at the end of a long family vacation spanning New York, London, and Edinburgh. This place was the BEST. The staff was incredible and was able to check us in early, was so helpful in setting up our beds in a way to accommodate our large family of 6, and were always helpful and kind. I would absolutely stay here again.

Great location. On arrival offered complimentary tea and coffee. Room was available early. All rooms contain a small kitchen area. Complimentary drinks 5-6pm. Staff all very pleasant and helpful.
