The royal hotel was absolutely fantastic, clean hotel, clean room and everything you need. We even booked the facilities for a £6 each day pass which included gym, steam roo , sauna and pool which was brilliant ... The only 2 niggles and they are only niggles was sauna wasn't hot just mildly warm and the pool was really really salty, not with chlorine but salt and tasted absolutely vile if you got it in your mouth and swim gear ended up being white as there was that much in the pool

Stayed at this hotel previously, you get what you pay for, location great car parking nearby for £9 for 2 days,if you expect 4 star don't book it but for a value break its spot on.

Gorgeous hotel, I will definitely stay again. My children and I enjoyed being here. The bar/lounge is great as is the impressive reception. Really good food and service from staff. Our room was a little bit dated but did not faze us. As the beds were super comfy and we had a bath and shower which was good. Overall had a great experience.

For the price we paid, this was excellent! The hotel is stunning when you walk in, the rooms were nicely decorated, if a little grubby but we weren’t expecting 5*. The beds were really comfy. I’m not sure what the rooms would be like in summer as there was no heating or air conditioning and windows didn’t open much. The bars ares were excellent too! Staff were really nice, didn’t seem the best trained in hospitality, which surprised me for a Britannia Hotel but still, we weren’t put off - maybe some staff had called in sick and they were covering? We’d definitely return.
