Had a wonderful time in Shrewsbury. Cam for my two besties 60th birthday's. The 3 bed room was Ideal. spotlessly clean and modern facilities. Will definitely book again as it was opposite the train station so very convenient for everything 👌

Brilliant stay in the heart of the town. Very modern, provides basic necessities such as shower gels and tea and coffees. The pub is just downstairs so any issues you can report to them. Keyless entry to the hotel and your room, very good value for money.

Check in was 15:00. I arrived at 16:20 and the room was still not ready. I complained to the woman at the bar which serves as the reception, she apologised, asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited and then tried to charge me for it! Not a good start to my stay. However, the room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, modern and stylish. Extremely good value for the price and literally opposite the train station. Entry to the hotel is via an app you have to download, but it worked well and saved carrying a key. Overall, apart from the cleaner still being in my room when I arrived, I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to others.

Staff were lovely but the room wasn’t clean and didn’t even have any toilet paper when I arrived. Also was a bright green light in the room that stayed on all night and you couldn’t turn off.

We got what we paid for at the Tumbledown: we needed an affordable place close to the station that was accessible for a member of our party with mobility restrictions. It answered on both of these, but visitors should not expect rooms to be fancy. All absolute necessities were provided, and from our rooms on the second floor we did not hear any noise from the bar on the ground level. The fixtures felt more like a college dorm or retreat house than a hotel: very basic but absolutely functional. The staff might need to pay a little more attention to detail, since when we checked in, the coffee and tea items had not been refreshed since being used by the previous occupants of our rooms. But the rooms were painted cheerful colors, and when we asked at the bar to have some more teabags, we received them. Overall, we were satisfied.

Nice and clean, looked recently refurbished and great for the beautiful station, we were catching a special train at 6.40 and it was ideally located for this. Interesting downloading an app for access to hotel and room, worked very well. The big downside was the noise from the pub downstairs and people outside , l am a bit deaf so it didn't bother me but it kept the wife awake.

Stayed 2 nights. The facilities/room were good. The housekeeping was a totally different story. Reason being: apart from leaving the window open on a windy winter day while I was at work, left a pile of slightly damp towels on the (unmade) bed and, more eggregiously, left my toothbrush on the toilet lid bristle side down. Normally I have no need for housekeeping for short stays, but this seems intentional. It's bizarre. I did complain but didnt receive any email or text, but i did mention to the booting platform as a concern. There was a sink, cup or rack - literally anywhere - they could have left it instead of brush-down, on the can, right in the middle. A shame, as would've been a 5. Hide your personal hygiene items.

I booked this room for one night with my two young children to attend a sporting event nearby. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and above a very noisy pub. The room itself is very basic which was fine for our one night stay and we appreciate there is little to be done about the outside noise however the window was broken we had to wedge it shut, this didnt help with the noise volume. The water was cold in the evening which meant cold showers before bed the room overall was very dusty/ not properly cleaned and the mugs for tea were dirty/unwashed. Overall the room lacked proper care and attention it was tired and in need of some repair some of the furniture was broken and in need of replacement bits were peeling off and the bathroom shelves were stained. The heating /towel rail also couldnt be switched on /off. The blind at the windo was also broken. We ended up going to our event the next day very tired as we were uncomfortable and kept awake for most of the night.

Parts of the property have been upgraded and there is a working lift. Security keys are very good. Bedside lamps include USB A & C charge points. Furnishings leave a lot to be desired. Beds are cheap metal frames with foam mattresses. Bedside tables are tiny & very dusty. Kettle, mugs etc sit in a small very low cabinet. Tea bags were unidentifiable, various shapes & sizes, one even looking slightly used. The one chair was being used for an electric fan, which was very useful as the window needed to be shut to block some of the noise. The window was filthy inside & out. The bathroom was accessible, but a good size. No barrier to keep the water where it should be. Wash basin is set very low & tiny. Day one we had warm water from the shower. Day two the water was slightly less than cold.

Very small loft room with nowhere to hang clothes and only a tiny mirror in the bathroom so difficult when getting ready.

Though the room was clean and pleasant. I did not feel safe. I was really high up and there was a door 1ft away from my bed, that led into another room next to me. The other room had a man in it who tried the handle a number of times. I went downstairs to ask if I could be moved but, when I walked into the pub to speak to the staff, I also felt unsafe as the pub was full of unsavoury drunks and a huge dog! This was early in the evening, probably around 6 - I'd understand it late at night but not at 6pm.I did not feel safe to even cause attention to myself as then more drunk people would know i was on my own upstairs. When I went to go back to the room, the outside door was propped open with an ashtray and two guys were standing there smoking, inside the corridor. I did not sleep well as I was thinking about the drunk people smoking, who can get in my room? And how would I get out if I needed to. Then, from 5am, the person next door made calls right next to my head, this carried on until at least 10:15 where i left to go out. On the Saturday night, I came back from town at around 11:30 and the door was propped open again. This time, the person I was sharing a room with was with me so I felt better but, still not a great experience. I'd definitely not recommend this place to a person travelling alone. Unless you are in Shrewsbury to get pissed and you are a 6ft firefighter with their own escape tools, I'd not advise anyone going. sorry

On first arriving at the Tumbleweed Hotel you have to negotiate with the bar staff in the pub, a kind of dismal 70's style ex-working mens club that would make a great film set for any production set in a poor, run down recession blighted town. Waiting and waiting for the absent owner/manager to send a text message with a code to install an app to unlock your door, whilst being tormented by Amy Winehouse blaring at full volume for the only 2 drinkers in the pub. Not exactly the warm, stressfree welcome you'd reasonably expect after a long day travelling. Hopes and expectations were lifted somewhat when we were shown through an obviously refurbished corridor to our room, then all hopes evaporated when we saw three single beds, metal frames loose and noisey, the sink leaking on the floor, and absolutely no space in the room. We had specified a double bed and paid for a 'superior' room, so we managed to get a room swap, into a room that had more dust than a museum archive, dirty toilet rim, plaster wrapping under one bed, two double beds juxtaposed with hardly any floor space. The room was cold, and the water in the shower was lukewarm. It took 5 hours for the heating and water to get hot, as the manager/owner/Scrooge was controlling the facilities remotely whilst playing dominoes in absentia. Bedroom window would not close, or open due to scaffolding right outside. A charming view for the right person!. I will never, ever recommend the Tumbleweed Hotel to.anyone.

Clean property and after a mix up of beds it was sorted quickly. Checking in was stressful and was around 4pm. Unfortunately the noise level from the pub was to much you couldn't sleep. Not suitable for a family. I would return without kids and have a few in the pub.
