The hotel is just a delightful place. The decor is tasteful, it’s very comfortable with a great location and best of all are the staff- professional, friendly, and are so ready to go out of their way to make sure you have what you need. There’s no breakfast but the Corner Restaurant downstairs is just as good - as is the hotel restaurant that opens at dinner including the staff there and chefs. All on the pricy side but make it worth it.

This hotel was soooo nice! We loved that we could easily walk all over town. The lobby bar was fun and it's so nice to have a restaurant on the first floor.

Very clean and modern room & bath in interesting old/historic building. Great location across the street from the college entrance. Only downside is offsite parking - but public garage was only a short walk away and cost was reasonable - much less than expected.

What a beautiful room in a beautiful hotel! It sits above several restaurants on the private third floor. The building is like a cross between a Victorian and the New Orleans French quarter. As old as the building must be, it is fully modernized with every amenity while maintaining its classic charm. The bathroom is amazing. There’s an oversized shower with an overhead rainfall shower head AND a detachable shower head with massager on the wall. And a separate soaking bathtub. Don’t even get me started on the toilet with the multi setting bidet and heated seat!

Room had very nice amenities- loved the heated toilet seat, rain shower and water in the refrigerator. Bed sheets were a bit scratchy but the comforter was amazing!

I enjoyed my time, the bed was comfortable and the new renovations were beautiful. I would say it’s worth over $500 though. It was a basic king layout, no suite and It was very loud from the bars downstairs overall 8/10

This is one of those limited staff hotels. The kind where there is no one at the front desk. You can call or text someone. But the lobby is empty. There is no one to help with luggage. There is no elevator. I walked my own luggage up 3 flights. At checkin there was someone who showed us to the room. I suppose I could have asked her to grab my luggage but at that point it seemed easier to deal with it myself. After that I never saw them again. There is no parking. It's even difficult to stop outside to unload as you would block the street. You need to park at a garage 2 blocks away and pay an extra 20$ a day. They will not validate. It does say that in the Expedia description but it's buried. The biggest issue with limited staff is there is an after hours door separate from the main door. I was told after 11:00 to use that door. However, one night the main door closed early and I was literally locked in the building at 10:00 p.m. walking around a dark lobby. Looking for the after hours door to get outside. When I posted a mid review for checking on Expedia someone from the staff reached out via text and asked what they could do to help. I explained how I was locked in when they closed the door early and that I was disappointed about parking and lack of an elevator. They never responded.... The room was fine. Clean but small. The location was great. Walking distance from the Penn State campus. But I seem to be running into these do-it-yourself hotels more and more.
