After reading other reviews, I was worried about remaining here, but I had a good time. After a day of exploring south lake tahoe, this is a ski motel where you can simply sleep and take a shower. Yes, the furniture and carpet are dated. There is no pool or lobby. Though my room is clean, which is a major priority, I chose that because it is my home away from home. The bedrooms also have mini-fridges and microwaves. Some of the rooms appear to have undergone renovations. The back room is noisy. The front room may be louder. The outdated rooms and lack of amenities might have contributed to the cost. There are other properties that are best suited to your requirements if you're searching for a resort experience with lovely lobby areas, pools, bars, and eateries. The Pinewood Inn is a fine choice if you want a basic place to sleep.
