Super cool place with a ton of character. Smallest room I’ve ever stayed in but the bed was comfy and the shower worked.

Perfect location if you’re okay with something simple! It’s exactly as advertised and was great for what we were looking for.

Stayed the night. The place reminded me of the turn of the century boarding house. Very simple and very neat.

Enjoy it for the experience. Don't over critic it or you won't enjoy it. Great restaurant on site with wonderful patio next to creek and overwhelming views.

The Forest Queen is such a cute, quaint old hotel right in the heart of Crested Butte. We loved staying there. Don't expect anything luxurious (or even a TV) and you will have a great time!

The room was more than adequate on the coal creek side with a bathroom. Furnishings were quaint and the bed comfortably furnished with down comforter. (although, not needed). Overall, a pleasant stay and restful night with sounds of the river flowing outside our window. Definitely recommend this hotel if you don't need luxury accommodations and need a convenient location for all downtown Crested Butte has to offer.

Had a great stay at the Forest queen! Would def stay again. Loved the Hotel Restaurant amenities and being on main st. Nice having the restaurant downstairs at your footsteps. So convenient of walking out with your dog and taking in the old town and neighborhood.

Location, location, location! Stay on the downtown main street (Elk Ave) and walk to shops and restaurants within only minutes. This former saloon and brothel will keep you cozy and warm and near the action. You can also eat in the highly rated restaurant downstairs if you don't want to bundle up and eat somewhere else. The room was small at 8 ft by 11 ft, but had it's own private bathroom. There is also a communal bathroom, but I don't know if some of the rooms don't have their own. The room stayed as warm as you like with the supplied space heater and the queen size bed was very comfortable. You can hop on the shuttle bus or drive and park at the Crested Butte ski resort, about 5 minutes away. If you are someone who doesn't need 5 star hotel accommodations and just need a warm cozy bed and a shower/bath, then this place is perfect for you. I would suggest calling the hotel directly to check pricing, they listed Vacancy and nightly price of $89.00. Hotels.com charged us around $150 per night.

A last minute over-night stay in CB. Couldn't have been an easier process with a great staff located at a sweet bar & grill directly downstairs. Old-school awesome! Keep in mind... it's SUPER OLD. So dont expect new and flashy.

Lol, where to begin. The Forest Queen Hotel is located on Elk Aveenus, the main thoroughfare of old Crested Butte. The hotel dates from 1881 and is above a saloon & restaurant. There is no front desk, you check in with the staff at the bar. The stairs to the rooms are a bit tilted, old buildings in Colorado shift over time, and the carpet is, well, dirty. Once upstairs your room is one of seven or so that share a single bathroom, just like 1881. My first two-night stay I got a room with two small single beds. The second stay I got a nicer room (for less) with a queen bed. I had no issues with the shared bath, which might put some folks off, however, the shower is one that won;t stay regulated and may shift from perfect to ice cold or scalding hot in an instant. There is no dedicated parking area for the hotel, you just find a spot on a side street nearby. This is not for you if you have security concerns about your vehicle. You can unload your things in front. Once you're checked in, you're set to enjoy all that old Crested Butte has to offer. The place may be a bit run down and "worn in like an old pair of boots", but I got three of the best nights sleep I've enjoyed in ages. Recommend to "seasoned, flexible and adventurous" travellers. If you need squeaky clean, sparkling new, look elsewhere.

Great experience. Right in downtown Crested Butte, just parked the car for 3 days and walked or rode bikes. Close to restaurants and shops and the Labor Day Craft fair on the main street was on. CB is also a mtn. biking mecca and you can ride right from the hotel. The rooms are basic, no fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer but coffee is right downstairs in the restaurant. Excellent food and the patio next to the creek is great. Last time we stayed in a condo at Mt. Crested Butte and then drove to town. (3-4 miles). Too isolated and somewhat sterile, but all the amenities.
