Fresh cooked breakfast ready and waiting for us in the dining hall was an exciting experience. Music playing, fresh coffee, nice cozy personal ambiance, food was deliciously flavorful and a few options to chose from. Place is extremely clean, open to tour open spaces, and the history is super cool. Pillows and beds very comfortable and had to ask what brand everything was so I could order for my home. Jim is super friendly and sociable and we really enjoyed his hospitality. This is our 2nd time staying here, and will be back for sure.

The owner greeted us at the door then he showed us to our room. The room was clean and neat. It looked exactly like the pictures online. The next morning he gave us alternate things to do in the area. He had a parfait at our breakfast table waiting for us before our breakfast was ready. He was very friendly. I love the unique pieces in this home. My husband especially loved the art. We would definitely stay here again.

Conveniently located smack dab in the middle of town! Beautiful place inside and out with impeccable attention to detail, gorgeous artwork, super comfortable bedroom and gorgeous bathroom (we were in the Shippen room). Only negatives would be location on the main road so can be noisy if room faces the road, and although extremely clean it was too heavy on the Clorox smell in the bathroom which was overwhelming in the bedroom as well since there were no screens in windows so not possible to open to air out really potent cleaning agent smell. Jim the host was awesome, made a delicious breakfast and was a wealth of knowledge and information about the area. Highly recommend if in the area for Elk watching or star gazing.

Loved our quick weekend stay at this beautiful B&B!! The owners have done a great job restoring the home and they were very welcoming and accommodating. Because of our schedule, we unfortunately could not enjoy the breakfast or dinner there at the B&B, but they made us some delicious breakfast sandwiches to go. Also, the bedding and soaps were luxurious, the place was quiet, Very clean and had exceptional decor. Just a wonderful experience all around!! We plan to book again when we have a less hectic schedule so we can enjoy all the amenities including sitting on the gorgeous front porch.

If you want to be pampered this is the place to stay! Jim & Matt were very friendly & always wanted to know if we needed anything. The food was exceptional, very filling & home made. There isn’t anything they missed to make your stay memorable. The room was so comfortable & the shower huge! The Inn is on the Main Street but very quiet with plenty of parking. Going back in September!♥️

Easily the most charming, well (perfectly) maintained, hospitable and relaxing bed and breakfast that we have ever stayed. We have already made reservations with friends to return to our oasis in the middle of nowhere.

Jim and Matt run an amazing Inn. We were treated with the utmost respect and felt perfectly accommodated our entire stay. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds apart from our own we've ever slept in.

We're so glad we found The Hygrade Inn. We were traveling on a long road trip for the holidays and needed a place to spend the night along the way. The Hygrade Inn was a wonderful treat for us! The room was cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. From the lush bed and bedding to the relaxing seating, we recovered well from a long day of driving. The large rain shower also helped us unwind. Add in the decor, and we felt at home in a well-cared-for space. The included breakfast was excellent: tasty and served thoughtfully in a visually appealing way. We scheduled our breakfast time and food order the night before, and when we showed up for the breakfast, we were greeted by two delicious yogurt parfaits that had been put together for us. As we finished those, Jim brought out our hot breakfast orders, which were both delicious. The common areas are well-decorated and feature quite a number of beautiful and interesting art pieces. The owners/staff - Jim and Matt - took very good care of us and were great to talk to. After breakfast, we had a pleasant chat with Jim, who shared with us the origins of many of the art pieces in the common areas and helped us find a place to go for a scenic hike nearby. We're already looking forward to the next time we stay at The Hydride Inn.

Beautiful house filled with great antiques. We had breakfast there every day and the pancakes were stellar! The innkeeper, Jim, was a refreshing delight, and gave us insightful information about local places to visit, including the Austin Dam Park and a spot to see elk (which we did!). Emporium has charm, and was a great home base for us to travel to see the Kinzua Skywalk and the Straub’s Brewery Tour. Would totally stay at the Hygrade Inn again.

I REALLY enjoyed the whole experience. The owner of the Inn was very sociable and served incredible breakfasts. My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and well kept. The shower was large(6') and had a large overhead rain type shower head that was fantastic. My wife and I were very pleased with our entire stay and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Hygrade Inn.Loved our stay!!

We are traveling geezers with needs…..fondness for delicious food ,good books and coziness ! All of which were met in Spades! With the grand staircase presenting a challenge for us and our normal dependence on elevators and room service , our hosts Jim and Matt saw to our bags(which are always ladened with medical equipment and traveling pharmacies) got from vehicle to room ,both at check in and out and delivered the morning Joe for us. Dining… and it truly is ! Although the menu might seem limited, any choice you make will be enjoyable! Great chef, charming waiter, and exquisite ambiance ! If this all seems too good to be true…..you will have to stay here and try to prove us wrong !!! Jim and Suzi
