From check-in to check-out this was such a positive experience. There was a pleasant warm greeting along with minimal check-in paperwork, directions for breakfast and wi-fi were provided as well as information about the inn property. Room service was available but not invasive. The property was lined with the most beautiful varieties of roses. The balcony faced the bay and sunsets. The pier was well kept. The pool was clean and open late (til 1am!). There was a group of picnic tables and a few grills for guest use. Breakfast was small, but sufficient to start the day. I look forward to our return to Waterside Inn!

I’ve been coming to Chincoteague for over 30 years and this has become my new favorite. The view of the water from the pool is outstanding, same thing from the hot tub, property is well-maintained and clean. Staff is great and helpful.

Wonderful staff. Owner took the time to speak with us about our stay and inquired if there was anything that would elevate our stay. The pool and grounds were kept immaculate. Our room was comfortable and had a beautiful view of the bay. Definitely would recommend staying here.

My children and I have stayed in the same hotel for every beach trip, for years. This property has never really let us down. It’s always an easy check in, the rooms are VERY clean, and the pool is well kept and a favorite of ours!

It was a really nice place. It was clean, the beds were nice, parking was great, breakfast was very good. I enjoyed it and we met some really nice guests there. The pool and hot tub were clean and I did use them, but only to put my feet in because I had a sprained ankle, but it was still good. I had the seaside view and the views were great. I walked the pier, that was nice. I would definitely go back.

Simplicity at its best. The rooms were clean the view spectacular. The staff was very nice and helpful and friendly everyone wore a smile and seemed like they enjoyed their life! And the young lady serving breakfast in the morning. Was a sweetheart and very kind and friendly. I'm going back!

The hotel and it's grounds are very very well maintained. The staff is courteous and helpful. The View was very pretty from our Bayside room. The only suggestion I have is that the eating space is exceptionally small for such a large number of rooms. There are only two tables. We got there right when it opened so it was not an issue for us ,but I could see where it would force you to take the food back to your room or eat outside assuming the weather is good because two tables fill up fast. We would return.

The room was nice and clean and every day when you are not there the house keeping comes and cleans the room and changes the trash and the pool is nice and the hot tub everyone that works at the motel room is very nice

Great location, restaurants are walkable. Small breakfasts in morning was just enough to get you going. Heated pool, hot tub in private setting and fishing pier made for relaxing days! Looking forward to staying again later this year. Great stay!

I’ve been staying at the Waterside for over 30 years. While it is not the most luxurious, the rooms are spacious and the view from every room is spectacular. That’s what continues to bring me back. I appreciate it is family owned and there are still familiar faces. Thanks for many memories.

We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our balcony which overlooked the water and provided a beautiful sunset view. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed breakfast with fresh coffee. , eggs and bacon. Overall, we were pleased with our accommodations, the central location and proximity to areas of interest and restaurants.

Beautiful inn. We had a “sea view” room with a gorgeous patio overlooking the dunes and bay, perfect for breakfast dining if time allows. (The breakfast attendant was kind enough to quickly pack us a full meal of eggs, sausage, and biscuits for on the go.) The room was overall clean and very spacious; we especially appreciated the separation of the wet bar/ powder area from the bathroom. The beds were also very comfortable and we slept deeply! We look forward to staying here again.

Let me just say… Waterside Inn understood the assignment before I even knew what assignment I needed. This was my very first solo trip to Chincoteague, and I came needing a full reset — peace, quiet, fresh air, a mental recharge, and maybe a sunset dramatic enough to fix my attitude. Mission accomplished. 😂 The island ambiance alone is enough to make you instantly exhale. Everything slows down in the best possible way. My room was freshly cleaned (and trust me, I notice EVERYTHING 👀), which immediately made me comfortable. The bed was firm, which I personally loved, and the pillows? Absolute win. No sad, flat hotel pillows trying to ruin my sleep. The water view from the balcony was such a vibe. Sitting out there with that peaceful view was exactly what my soul needed. I caught a gorgeous sunrise, but let’s be honest — the sunset the night before absolutely stole the show. It was one of those “just sit there and stare at the sky” moments. The location is PERFECT. Close to everything without feeling crowded or chaotic. Amenities checked every box for me too — pool, breakfast, dock access, and easy parking. But what really made the stay stand out was the people. Every single staff member I encountered was kind, welcoming, and genuinely polite. Even the guests were lovely, which honestly says a lot. 😂 As a woman taking her first solo reset trip, feeling safe and comfortable matters — and I absolutely did. 10/10. Would absolutely stay here again.
