This property was very nice. There was a bit of construction on site but it did not bother me at all. The view from the room and balcony is priceless. What I loved the most was the view in the shower. Imagine, taking a shower with a volcano in the background. Great place!

Across from the main entrance of Mystico Park, Sangregado Lodge is a unique and private space. We stayed in a junior suite and it was beautifully appointed with a twin rainfall showers and floor-to-ceiling windows all having a direct ever-changing view straight out to the Arenal Volcano. The kitchenette and fridge were stocked with snacks and an espresso machine. This is not a full-service property and you want to stay aware of staff hours and plan ahead requests for activity bookings and information. But Corina and other staff we met went above and beyond to help us and stay connected on WhatsApp. The Blue Hibiscus restaurant a short 3 min. drive down the hill had a wonderful buffet breakfast every morning. We had dinner there twice with the best flame-cooked tenderloin steak that I can remember on our last night. Highly recommend Sangregado Lodge for a luxury, jungle-adjacent stay after canyoning, whitewater rafting or taking an early-morning guided tour of Mystico Park to see the most wildlife.

We stayed in the family Villa #2, with our daughter. It was a nice place and we enjoyed the separate sleeping room front he family room and kitchen area. The location is fairly far from La Fortuna, which if you plan strategically, can be a real advantage for your stay. We ended up booking most of our activities around the hotel area, and only venturing into La Fortuna for one evening. We enjoyed the Hanging Bridges, LaRoca Canyoning, Sky Adventures, Arenal 1968 Trail, and had a wonderful time. I would say the views from our place were just ok, not the dramatic views that you see on their website. We had more of a jungle view than we did a Volcano view, though if you looked out the window in the right way, you could see it. The included breakfast was nice, though it was a drive to get there. No way to really walk there - it’s incredibly steep road that would be dangerous to be walking on at that time of day. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and everyone there was very nice and accommodating.

Loved the tree top view from our room. Free parking. Nice staff. Only draw back is that you are not near town and it’s a winding drive to get there. The free breakfast is at another hotel down the road.
