Our friend, Ross, welcomed us at the local ferry and drove us through the neighborhood to Goby Lodge and showed us our room and amenities. Ross is very chilled and gave excellent advice on snorkeling the house reef and getting to the next local island. The island itself is the capital of the atoll, so it has paved main roads and more infrastructure. The house reef still has a lot of life but has a lot more bleaching and human degradation than the other islands we visited.

When we stayed for a week in December 2016, you and your wife were fantastic hosts. And we did many activities including diving, snorkeling with turtles and sharks, and even a night dive which was fantastic!

This is the place to stay if you want to experience how life in the Maldives is. Simple and neat accommodation located just next to the port and shops and the breakfast cafe around the corner. Shut is an excellent host and will make you feel very welcome. He answered all of our questions and we felt very relaxed and comfortable staying with him and eating at the local cafe. He organized great snorkeling and freediving excursions for us as he is most experienced as one of the first dive instructors in the Maldives with so much knowledge. You can rest assured that you're safe diving under his direction.

My sister and I wanted to live the real moldavian life, so we chose a guest house. We discovered Goby Lodge, and it has been a really great experience to live there. The room was large and clean, you can use the kitchen to cook or drink tea, lots of mixed tasty tea at your disposal. Shujaau, the owner, is a great person. He helped us from the first time we contacted him for a reservation until the end of our trip and we are still in touch, forming our friendship every day. If required, he can arrange excursions and any activities required. We had dinner at a restaurant near the house, great food and nice staff! We hope to return soon!.

I spent three weeks in July 2018 and decided to stay at this guest house for my two children aged 10 and 12. Due to the fact that the owner of the guest house is a diving instructor, we were fortunate to have Ross with us every day from breakfast to dinner, boarding the boat, taking us to inhabited or waiting islands, and eating local food every day. We paid an affordable fee of around 100 usd per week for lodging and food, and 100 usd per week for diving training or diving. The first week was reserved for snorkeling. We had WiFi and air conditioning. The nice Maldives paintings that were in the rooms were delivered to France by Shut. The only complaint, aside from some mosquitoes, was the local atm, which I was only acceptable with my visa but only with a beer. Next time, I'll bring and use currency notes!.

The guest house is located in the local island of Mahibadhoo where the Government regulations require that guests do not wear bikini or similar swimwear while in the area. However, the hotel can arrange excursions to picnic islands for guests where these restrictions are not applied.Transfer to Mahibadhoo HotelsTo reach the hotels in Mahibadhoo Island, a public ferryboat or chartered speedboat can be arranged by the hotel for which payment will be collected upon check-in. Please contact the hotel to book your transfer arrangement at least 3 days prior to your arrival. Your arrival and departure flight details and full names of traveling party will be required.Public Ferryboat- Ferryboat takes 4 hours 30 minutes to reach Mahibadhoo Island and costs approximately USD 10 per person per way.- Depart from Male (Male – Mahibadhoo) – Saturday, Monday, Thursday at 9:00 AM- Depart from Mahibadhoo (Mahibadhoo – Male) – Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday at 10:45 AM- If your flight lands after 1:00 PM, you will need to take the speedboat transfer or make arrangements to stay in Male’Speed Boat - Ferryboat takes 1 hours 20 minutes to reach Mahibadhoo Island and costs approximately USD 35 per person per way.- Depart from Male (Male – Mahibadhoo) – Saturday, Sunday, Monday , Tuesday & Thursday at 4:00 PM- Depart from Mahibadhoo (Mahibadhoo – Male) – Saturday, Sunday, Monday , Tuesday & Thursday at 7:00 AM- If your flight lands after 1:00 PM, you will need to take the speedboat transfer or make arrangements to stay in Male.
