Escaping to the country has never been more fun and magical. The resident robin and all his many friends keep you in that chilled mindset. The town of Rye was 10 mins by car and full of historical charm. It was even being used for filming while we visited. We walked from Rye to Camber sands along the cycle path and there are frequent buses back.

We wanted quiet, peaceful, beautiful, unique and considerate and that’s what we got. To be woken up by pheasants and lambs, dinner at The Plough, logs being burnt inside and out and amazing views and walks… it was all there.

A tranquil, peaceful setting in the countryside with beautiful views the hut was idyllic with everything you could need to get away from it all and relax. The Hive has been beautifully decorated and is very cozy with a lovely log fire. The fire pit is a great addition. There is a lovely pub and farm shop/cafe serving delicious homemade food within walking distance and it is situated within a 10 minute drive from the lovely Rye itself.

Fantastic stay! Incredible location with the most picturesque views. Lovely to relax and spend some time away from the stresses of every day life. Johnny, the owner was very friendly and extremely helpful when we had a question. Couldn’t recommend any higher you will love it!

Our stay at the ‘Hideout’ was amazing. The hut was fabulous and really quirky. So peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. The view was stunning and the location was perfect to explore Rye and surrounding areas. There was a nice little pub which was a short walk just down the lane. Will definitely book again.

What can I say, the place is a piece of heaven. We stayed in October last year in the Hive and this time staying in the Hide Away. It is tucked away looking over a field of sheep which we found very entertaining. You have all you need with a fridge, gas hob, kettle (the old fashioned way) , usb charging ports and Bluetooth inbuilt speakers. We had a BBQ using the fire pit and it was so lovely. There are games and puzzles in the cabins but we tend to take our own. It's a short walk to the pub which does lovely food and a very short drive or a longer walk to Tibbs farm shop which does the best food, cakes, breakfast etc. They had fruit picking and a maze as well. I cannot recommend this place high enough.

This was such a lovely and amazing place to stay. I can't tell you how much you relax and enjoy yourself here. We spent evenings playing cards by the fire outside or playing board games. Days going for walks, reading or doing a puzzle. There were a few slight down sides. I think the cleanliness could be more than improved and a better welcome pack about the local area. Other than that we loved it and we would love to come back.

This has to be the most incredible place I have ever stayed in. This place has been created with love from the soul, to turn a dream into reality. This really is a magical place where you forget the world outside, relax and find you again. We loved it so much we booked within an hour of returning home !

Amazing setting, feels you are in the heart of the countryside, but only a short walk to the pub and a short drive to Rye and Camber. Hut came very well equipped with fire bowl, wood burner, fridge and hob. Hot and cold running water with good pressure. A few things in the hut a little bit tired e.g. Radio, crockery, etc. but nothing to prevent us having an amazing stay.

We really enjoyed our stay in The Hideout. Not quite sure what to expect when advertised as “off grid”, however we were pleasantly surprised. Our hut was exceptionally clean and well stocked upon check-in (kitchen essentials, wood/firefighters etc) which is contact-free. It overlooks countryside for miles, plenty pheasants and grazing sheep metres away - something anyone bringing a dog should be aware of. The external areas feel secluded, however not secure, plenty of space for a well behaved pooch to roam. The hut itself is a decent size for a couple, good kitchenette facilities and very comfy sofa. Where it falls down slightly is in a few small details: we found the bed incredibly uncomfortable -creeks and as the pictures suggest, you need to crawl on all fours to reach it. The external areas need some investment: unable to sit on the bedroom terrace as no seats (plus falling acorns will take you out), the main deck requires a bench seat so you can snuggle whilst enjoying a glass of English Sparkling, or a decent size dining table that matches the deck size. Sadly the fire pit area smelt of sewage when a breeze whipped by... being picky, we’d of liked a hand towel and a hook in the bathroom as we were reluctantly required to place our towels on the toilet seat. We would still highly recommend this hut for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful views and great communication from the owner on how to find it and access your hut. We stayed in The Hive for one night and it was a little dusty, everything needed a deep clean. It didn’t ruin our trip, and would visit again in the hope this was a one off error.

A wonderful place for a couple of days retreat. We stayed in The Hut which was in the woods and offered amazing views of the surrounding countryside; lush green fields, sheep, birds and bluebells. The quirky accommodation was small but adequate and very private. The location was excellent being in walking distance of The Plough where we enjoyed a superb evening meal, and it was also only a short drive into Rye. Mobile reception was intermittent and the USB charging points offered did not work which was slightly frustrating as we use our phones as cameras and needed to at least have a lifeline to family left behind. I would recommend taking plenty of portable chargers, we ended up driving to charge up in the car. I would definitely recommend Extraordinary Huts if you want a peaceful and relaxing break away from it all.

Loved the hut, enjoyed our stay. I brought a 3 course meal with me. So no need to eat out! Lovely and cosy. I would have liked a small saucepan to do porrige in morning. We managed with a big one!! I also wasnt good with lighting the gas rings. I would prefer a long lighter . And no hooks for towels when wet out of shower. In bedroom there were a few cobwebs and spiders in nooks and crannies. Whilst not scared, I felt these had been on ceiling and edges for some time. However bed very cosy. Thought bed was facing wrong direction..Very picky I know, but attention to detail is important.. I think 2 pairs of curtains were mixed up. . Lengths of curtain not same on 2 windows. Just being overly critical, sorry. . I wouldnt have odd lengths on curtains on my windows at home. Probably most people would never notice!! We did enjoy our stay.

A very cool experience in a tiny home! The Hive has all you could need for a mini-break. It's set in a very convenient location close to the beautiful town of Rye, & nicely tucked away from the main road so its quiet. If you arrive after hours, it can be tricky to locate as there is not much lighting. And if its been raining, make sure you have good shoes to handle the mud!

I expect a rustic ‘off-grid’ hut to be reasonably basic but to have a fairly dirty interior I was less enthused about. The sofa with bits of old food on it. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Dirty and dusty floors. Dirty grubby windows. Dead bugs in the window frames. Surfaces covered in grime around the sink area for example. Old food left on the sink drainer (bits of broccoli - not ours!). Even the kettle for the stove top was missing its ‘whistle’. Cutlery drawer grubby etc. The wet room a little tired, needs refreshing. Poor lighting. No mirror. No extraction for the steam meant it stayed pretty wet in there all day. Using the toilet after a shower meant you have damp and wet clothes that easily touch the dirty floor. The drain smelled too. No decent supply of hand soap provided. Empty bottles of hand soap, yes. But to use - barely any. No milk provided in the gas fridge. But some old tea bags and sugar plus sachets of coffee stuffed into a jar found in a cupboard for your welcome to the property. The bedroom area: no storage options for clothing. Some lighting not working either. Pillows a mix of lumpy and squishy. “The Hut” needs some care and attention to make it feel special. It didn’t feel special for us unfortunately. We have stayed in much better and more comfortable Shepherds Huts. It could be really special but it just isn’t. We booked for 2-nights but only stayed 1-night as it was so disappointing.
