Villa Aalaya (Sanskrit for 'Home") is a beautiful villa made up of three antique teak buildings.

This building is completely open to the beautiful view of the forest, gorge and rice fields. Group dinners are great on our 4m x 1.5m teak dining table!
The Limasan is our private space, containing:

☀ the giant timbers and 40 foot ceilings create a stunning space to relax in.
Finally, the Gladak is a separate, self contained bedroom, made entirely of teak with its own private outdoor bathroom and veranda, with air-condition and mini fridge.

The two bedrooms are spacious with two single beds in one, and a custom made double bed with a pull out single underneath if required. They share a bathroom which is all glass (including the roof!) with huge trees overhead, an outdoor shower and a giant two person jacuzzi tub.
The property has a curved infinity pool overlooking the rice field and gorge, a trampoline (built into the ground), a fire pit for camp fires, huge beautiful trees and a bamboo grove. There is lots of parking and it is located 100m off the village road down a private driveway, so there it is very quiet.
Villa Aalaya is located 1.4km from the main road of Ubud in the village of Kutuh Kaja. The Ubud Botanical Gardens is 500m further up our street, and the only gym in Ubud is 700m from our house.
This is a family home we finished in December 2011 and lived in for 5 years, and it was designed with children in mind.
It comes with a Villa Manager to help with any questions/concerns and is fully serviced.

Guests at Villa San are spoiled for choice when it comes to ways to relax. Inside, as well as the living and dining spaces, there are two well-equipped entertainment rooms – one is part of the two bedroom master suite, the other adjacent the informal dining room – a gym and a children’s playroom. The villa showcases some exquisite art and handicrafts from China, Ghana and Indonesia.
Villa San comprises six large bedrooms – three king bedded and three twins. French doors from all the bedroom pavilions look out over tranquil gardens, only steps away from the long sloping lawn and the inviting pool.
A friendly, helpful team of staff are on hand around the clock, with a butler and chef available to meet every request. They are knowledgeable about local Hindu cultural activities, art galleries and the myriad options for exploring and learning about the region (guests can take a craft or cooking class, or book an in-house meditation or yoga session) and will recommend the best of local restaurants, cafés and spas.

The common area with kitchen and couch is indoors and equipped with large ceiling fans. The sliding glass doors around can be opened if needed to leave fresh air inside and enjoy nature’s sounds. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to prepare your favourite dishes and drinks. The spacious kitchen counter gives space to socialize and the large fridge and oven offer the perfect condition for homemade food. The comfortable and large lounge area is located just next to the kitchen and offers the perfect setting to come together and have a good time on the spacious couch.
A covered outdoor dining area is just next to the pool with breathtaking views over the garden and lush greenery around. Enjoy a good meal, board games or some drinks with all your loved ones while appreciating being with your friends and family as well as admiring the beauty of Bali’s nature and sunsets.
The pool area offers another chill spot with a sunken seat lounge in the pool. A special spot to enjoy your time together! The sun loungers around the pool are perfect for a nap in the shade, tanning in the sun, reading a book or to simply relax and enjoy your time in paradise.
Our villa staff is coming daily to clean the property and the villa host is there to help you with any requests or questions that might arise during your stay.
