Kami berdua menginap satu hari saat akhir pekan, menikmati suasana dingin di Ranupani yang dibalut kehangatan keluarga Pak Thomas. Kami memesan kamar seharga 200 ribu dengan kamar mandi di luar dan memiliki air panas, meskipun terkadang pemanas sering mengalami masalah. Dengan harga murah, kami sudah mendapatkan makan siang dengan menu sederhana yang enak khas pedesaan. Sampai jumpa lagi.

Kami disambut oleh Thomas dan istrinya dengan perhatian dan ketersediaan. Tanpa mereka, kami tidak bisa mengatur perjalanan pendakian Semeru. Thomas telah menghubungi kami melalui email beberapa bulan sebelumnya dan menyediakan semua peralatan yang diperlukan untuk kami (tenda, kasur, kantong tidur, makanan untuk tiga kali makan, air, serta pemandu dan tukang angkut). Kamarnya sederhana, kamar mandi digunakan bersama dan showernya memiliki air panas. Makan malam hemat tapi luar biasa.

Tomas and his family are incredibly kind and accommodating. They do tend to attract foreign clientele looking to summit semeru, as mentioned in other reviews, but there were also some indonesians. I arrived at ranu pane completely unprepared for climbing semeru, and tomas hooked me up with all the information and even allowed me to rent equipment. I give this glowing recommendation solely for this reason.
