Beautiful room - in the heart of things but just off the busy street so noise wasn't a problem. As just a room and not a hotel or full apartment, I wasn't expecting it to be cleaned every day, but yes they were attentive and stopped by every day. I was a little nervous at first about the low number of reviews and lack of information about check-in, but it is very much a real place, just call the number provided to set up check-in rather than email.

I loved my stay here. The room was very large with plenty of room. Beautiful furnishings. Great housekeeping. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! It’s only 4 minutes walk to Rialto bridge and 4/5 minutes to St Marks. Very convenient location!

This is a charming hotel room. It is a really cool combination of authentic character- wooden shuttered windows overlooking gondolas passing by, murano chandelier- and a super clean, updated bathroom. The location is great, halfway beyween the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. It was difficult to find. Only wish was that directions might have been sent to us in advance.

For Venice standards its a very nice room. You have to go up four short flights of stairs and you need three keys to get into your room but stuff like that are typical and old buildings. The room was very spacious except there's no place to sit down other than two chairs at the desk no lounging area, the bed is a king size bed canal view were beautiful. The host was had good communication, and most importantly, the air conditioner worked exceptionally well, which was a godsend

This place really is perfect little secret! It was our first time in Venice so it was convenient to be close to the center of San Marco. The room was five minutes walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do and the boat taxi stations. Next door is one of the best restaurants we ate at on our whole trip. And we were able to take a gondula ride practically outside the door. We came during high season and it seemed like the tiny streets and alleyways were constantly packed with endless streams of tourists. Having a place near the center but in a quiet little side street next to a restaurant was ideal. Our room also had a balcony and you could look out over the canals and watch the boats go by at night. It was so peaceful and the strong AC, pretty, spacious room and bathroom made it the perfect retreat. Our host Sophia met us right at the ferry station when we arrived and we were able to call the owner and get directions from the train station. Sophia even carried my 50lb luggage the five minute walk from the ferry and up to the second floor. Yes, you do have to carry your luggage up stairs, but I mean the stairs and building are several hundred years old so it’s part of the experience. We picked this place over a boutique hotel and I’m glad we did. Great value and excellent stay!

Simon's Secret are rooms on the second floor of a quirky canal-side building. Google Maps got me 'nearly there' but got confused - so worth checking on a real map! It was lovely and central with everything within easy walking distance. Lots of mosquitos though!

The room is ok. Almost no amenities in the room. Not even a glass or a cup. The host was semi responsive with just not answering back at all on a message sent to him. No housekeeping but that was sort of expected. The BIG problem with the room is the shower is clearly visible from apartments across the street at night. We had to shower with the lights off. Even with the wooden blind closed its visible.

Everything was great except we find it very hard to have a cold shower. The lack of hot water was a disqualifying event. The bed wasn’t great. That said, location on the canal was good. If you want to be in the thick of things near Rialto then this is a good location. Do check the hot water…
