Such a kind staff and well managed property. If you want an authentic ski experience in the Japanese Alps, I highly recommend staying here. The included breakfast and dinner exceeded expectations and we never wanted to go anywhere else during our stay.

Private onsen in room. Japanese style breakfast and dinner. Ski-in-ski-out to gondola and quad lift which lead to many beginner to advance trails. Loads of amenities. Park a car at hoppo onsen bus stop and call the hotel to pick us.

We were looking for somewhere unique to stay while skiing Shiga Kogen and absolutely found it here. The couple that runs it works very hard to ensure that everything is perfect during your stay from picking you up at the bus stop (if needed), prepping AMAZING breakfasts and dinners and answering any questions you may have. Highly recommended!

The facilities, room, food and location were all excellent. The hotel is right next to a ski lift and beginner slope. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and courteous. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Shiga Kogen.

The service here is fantastic and always clean, and the way they served it, and then the food here is excellent, and also the bathroom is amazing, as is the outside bath, the rooms also have the same quality, the perfect cleanliness, the correct accuracy, the comfort and the style, plus the amazing view from here.

In Naganoniigata, I had a difficulty getting to the hotel from further north, and I couldnt arrive before darkness. For a very affordable cost, the hotel staff was kind enough to pick me up with a shuttle bus. The rest of my stay was also relaxing and helpful.

We spent 6 days at higashidate and were really grateful for the hospitality of the owners and staff. It is not a new property, but the rooms are comfortable and the cuisine is delicious. The onsite equipment rental room is very convenient overall very pleased with our stay. We enjoyed the central location between China and the Sun Valley, but some people might find it a bit remote. Also keep in mind that the hotel generally encourages you to keep to mealtimes. Thank you once more to the hotel staff for making our party of 6 a wonderful stay.

I would certainly think about staying here for our next ski trip. We didn't stay here, so this review is only an initial moment. The hotel is 400 meters above the gondola station in the Hippo onset area, a few minutes' walk from one of the ski runs. After a day of fun in the snow, it's a terrific place to take a dip in the hot spring water. Both an indoor and a smaller outdoor pool are present. Additionally, the outdoor pool's view of the chairlifts is quite clear. The decoy area is big and immaculately maintained. After a hot spring visit, there is ice-cold water available. There aren't any meals on offer, which is a downside.

Our three-member party spent six nights at Higashidate. We had a room that combines western and Japanese themes. I enjoyed the futon-tatami encounter. Our stay was quite enjoyable. It was a full immersion experience because we were typically the only Japanese on site. The personnel are welcoming and helpful. The cuisine is excellent, but please be aware that it is full Japanese, so bring western snacks! It was convenient for us because it was directly next to the Higashidate gondola, but not as strategic as in Chinese. The structure is outdated but well maintained. The drying area on the first floor is a touch cumbersome, but it's a drying area. The first floor was awesome because we stayed on ith floor. Starts are good!. Get into it!.

Excellent customer service. Facilities including room and hallways are a bit outdated and certain areas in need of repair.

Staff is super helpful. Location is fantastic. On the slope, close to the chairlift. You can get your lift ticket at the chairlift station and you can rent your skis at the hotel. Great breakfasts and dinners provided by the hotel. Unbelievable views. Not far from the shuttle bus stop. Head down to your left side and the hotel is the second one down. Highly recommended if you want a traditional japan accomodation experience.

Everything was great except housekeeping. Instead of full-time staff, the interns were the ones cleaning the rooms. Socks was swept beneath the bed, personal pillows and clothes were left on the ground. Only the edge of the table was wiped. Replenishing of toilet mugs kept decreasing and even had some suspicious liquid in it on the last day of housekeeping. Onsen towels were not cleared and kept piling up.

This lovely hotel was built long time ago but it is well maintain, located in Happo Onsen right by the gondola. The staff are very polite and helpful. They sent us detailed instructions how to reach the hotel and provided the pick up transport from the bigger bus station. We stayed in their premium room with private Onsen, an amazing massage chair and great views on ski slopes and the surrounding mountains. To be honest, we had hard time to motivate ourselves to leave our room and go skiing :) The dining was great, our breakfasts and dinners were served in private dining area and we truly enjoyed the delicious meals and humbled and polite service. We hope to be back next year! THANK YOU!!!
