We stayed at Asamoya, a specially renovated room. The room was fantastic with both indoor and outdoor doors. The service from the staff was however mediocre. They appear friendly but forget your name. The receptionist was a little bit disappointing as it was so businesslike.

We spent three nights in Room 302, which has an open-air hot bath. Feeling like you are watching the snow fall and unwinding in a hot tub. There are wonderful private hot baths with river views as well. There is a lovely walk to a waterfall, and the gardens are beautifully landscaped with boulders and lanterns. The service was excellent, and the supper, a total of 8-10 courses, that was served in private rooms, was always excellent. It's difficult for a westerner to get used to Japanese breakfast, which includes rice, fish, soup, and other Western options, so it was surprising to discover that the bar's lunch menu consisted largely of international pasta varieties. Although we were the only non-Japanese visitors, the staff made an effort to reach out to us. The Roman countryside is unattractive, and even the towns within an hour's drive are not very interesting. The best place to spend your entire time in Santo Tenshi is to hibernate. Its a lovely, relaxing time.

There is a location of this resort where all the scenery is surrounded by natural beauty and has a waterfall. We're in a state of calm listening to the sound of the water. The meal was excellent, we were treated to a lovely Japanese fine dining meal in a private room. You will find a few options to start. Privacy in a private room, family-style settings, where everyone enjoys it together, or the open areas separated by male and female rooms. I recommend trying each one.

This is a very relaxing place to stay in the middle of a green and quiet forest and watching an amazing waterfall. Excellent and spotlessly clean rooms with a river view and a restaurant that definitely deserves Michelin stars. Honestly, this place is very unbeatable.

We recently stayed at this Roman. We arrived after seeing many temples and castles in almost tropical heat in Tokyo and kyoto and a number of other places around. So we needed the rest. The combination of wonderful ontsens, great service, and delicious food worked. It was a lovely experience. My son and I stayed for two nights. We wore only comfy yukatas and went together to a private family frequently which you can reserve at no additional cost for 45 minutes at a time. The price one night reached over 50 thousand yen. Our room was comfortable, but we usually didn't have a private bathroom either inside or outside. But if you take in the culinary experience, it was definitely worth it! Dinners are divided into 10 courses. The famous Japanese shabushabu barbecue was the main course at the second dinner. We tried it before at a restaurant in Kyoto and it was a highlight. Raw beef or pork and lots of vegetables are briefly boiled in water before dipping in peanut or vinegar and soy sauce then eating. Heavenly! Santo tenshi gets a lot of thumbs up. Particularly the very kind gentleman who spoke good English and looked after us all the time. Our friends and me seemed to be the only foreigners there. Most staff did not speak much English, but his English was excellent. Before
