I liked this place, was good! Just a group of guests made laud noises in the living area in the middle of the night, every night.

Hobson lodge is a nice hostel. The kitchen is big so you always have space for cooking, also rooms and toilets are always clean. A friendly environment with people from all around the world.

Well located for walking into the CBD. Parking was secure. The room was spacious including the bathroom. There was a constant background noise from the pipes presumably but didn't disrupt sleeping.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! I was welcomed warmly as soon as I entered the front desk and offered free luggage storage behind the front desk, and free full use of all the amenities until it was time to check-in! The hostel itself is very quiet and perfect to get a good rest of you are jet lagged at all! The kitchen had plenty of cooktops, pots, pans, utensils, and storage, and the washrooms had several separate toilets and showers - never had to wait for anything! There were also several computers available to use free of charge as well, which was very helpful for me!

Incredibly clean, amazing showers and toilets. Rooms have curtains that allow you to sleep in peace. Every bed has valuable boxes underneath for peace of mind. Laundry room is decently priced at $4 per washer and dryer. Absolute joy to stay there, extended my stay several times at reception with no problems. Would highly recommend to any other backpackers or as a cheaper alternative to a hotel.

Front desk receptionist ( Mila ) very helpful so are few gentlemen. Bathroom, kitchen facilities are very clean. Excellent location very close to Sky Tower, easy to catch buses, many restaurants within the area and most important very safe place to stay. I would recommend anyone visit Auckland, New Zealand check out this place.

The kitchen was large, the wifi worked well, and there were plenty of hot showers/toilets available. Hairdryers were located near the showers/sinks. Computers were available on both floors. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I loved having hot water in the morning for making instant oatmeal and coffee. This hostel is a quiet place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were stocked and clean. The location is GREAT - only 1 1/2 block to the bus station, close to a grocery store, and close to restaurants and the Sky Tower. I enjoyed my stay there.

This was the third time I've stayed at Hobson Lodge and it's definitely my favorite in town. They're always improving and upgrading stuff. The kitchen and lounge area is clean, intelligently planned, and well-maintained. Derek, the manager, is accommodating, easy-going, and has a really good head on his shoulders. He remembers and welcomes me each time I return!

Excellent quality mattress in non-rickety bunk beds with lockable cupboards. Bathrooms were clean with hand towels, hairdryers and soap complimentary. Kitchen was well stocked and cleaned thoroughly daily.
