Chambre très spacieuse, fonctionnelle et très propre ! Il y a un petit lavabo privé (avec du savon) très pratique, et vous avez la possibilité d'utiliser un frigo et un micro onde (commun). Le wc était commun mais il était également très propre. Le lit était grand et très confortable. La vue depuis la chambre était magnifique. Les espaces communs (couloirs, salons..) sont très propres et agréables également. L'hôtel est à 5 minutes à pied des départs de croisière, de restaurants et d'un supermarché. Le personnel donne de supers conseils sur les alentours. Mention spéciale à Jamila qui s'est occupée de nous avec un enthousiasme et une gentillesse très appréciable !! Si nous revenons à Gudvangen nous reviendrons ici !

This was a beautiful place, right at a famous fjord. With waterfalls coming down all around, a nice restaurant and a really nice reasonable priced gift store. We loved it there!

Other than that its expensive to take the bus to go and leave the place (160 NOK, for a 20 min ride to go to Flam), I loved it!! Extremely clean and the staff was just amazing, loved my stay, very comfortable room and very beautiful place. There’s a mini fridge in the room and a grocery store/gas station Joker right across the river, a few steps away.

Even though I booked the Fjordtel Budget Hotel, it was early May and the main hotel was not full so they automatically upgrade me to the main Gudvangen Fjordtell. The room was neat and clean and even had a kitchenette and its own deck. It was a short walk from the main building where you check in and eat. Very cool round building with lots of glass, including the ceiling thru which you can look up 400 meters to see one of the world’s most magnificent water falls. Indeed, the tiny hamlet of Gudvangen is surrounded by towering cliffs like no other place in the world of which I’m aware. It also is the origin of the Naeroyfjord, perhaps the most awesome of all of Norway’s many fjords. It is part of the famous Norway in a Nutshell attractions, and can be taken either from Gudvangen to Flåm or visa versa. In midseason, I assume the place gets very bust because there are parking spaces for dozens of big buses. Many of the buses are from nearby Flam (20 minutes) but the two hour bus ride from Bergen to Gudvangen runs through spectacular scenery. I recommend you get a good seat on a VY double decker and drink in the beauty.

If you go to this area is for Fjord tour, instead stay in the expensive town Flam, I would suggest you saty here in this town Gudvangen and in this much less expensive hotel. because the cruise tour of Fjord is anyway between the above 2 towns, you can get on from either one.
