After leaving the buccaneer, I was waiting at the airport in Bocas and thought Id leave my thoughts, including the good, bad, and ugly. First, the good elizabeth, her sister, and the rest of the crew are wonderful. I can't express how gracious and graciously pleasant they all are. The sunrise and the view are incredible. The pizza place next door is pleasant, and the young German guy serving is very friendly and kind. The toilet just smells. We gave it some discretion because it appears to be a composting toilet, but hey! It broke up this morning and was awful. The lower level of the room is rustic. The double bed is covered in mosquito nets, but not the single bed. Bring one! Breakfast at Ibis is scheduled to open at 8 a. M. It is always late, once reaching 9 a. M. So, pack snacks if you're an early riser. The ugly bugs. Numerous eubacteria, such as socks and long sleeves, are so extensive that you can't leave without covering up from head to toe. I didn't lie on the beach because I'm nearly covered in 100 bites. They came while eating at ibis and sitting in front of and inside our lodgings. We chose to explore bocas del toro to welcome the new year without a crowded place or large party, just a quiet, calm tropical setting, and we found it at the buccaneer resort. This tiny group of structures on career island, anchored by the fantastic ibis on the beach, was exactly what we were looking for! A peaceful beach, walking distance to an amazing surf location, easy access to water taxis into Bocas town, and a location not that many would consider 5 star, even though the accommodations are not what most people would consider 5 star, consider that you can hear the surf from your bed, see the waves from your window or balcony, walk a few steps and swim in the Caribbean, what more could you ask for from island life? On our next trip to Bocas del Toro, we will undoubtedly plan to return and meet elizabeth at the buccaneer. On new years eve, the bocas beach club was opening, hopefully, it will become another popular waterfront hot spot on career island, and also our neighbor in the unit above the office planned to open a pizza restaurant! What another wonderful addition to the buccaneer and the coastline of career island!.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at buccaneer resort. We stayed in the bungalow suite upstairs for 2 nights and as they were booked we moved to the main floor for the last 2 nights. Upstairs is great because it has an open air balcony with screens for the room. 10 feet from the palm flannel shore. The view from the balcony is spectacular, and when we were there the beach was peaceful and relaxing to swim on. There is another beach you can swim at a few minutes past the restaurant. Ibis is on the water and serves very good fish and food all the time. There is a coupon for a $5 discount for breakfast. The rooms are very basic so if you go for luxury you may be disappointed. We loved it and it was worth every penny for the location, view, and overall experience. The staff is very helpful and very nice. We will certainly come back if we come back as the location is excellent.

My friend and I have a very wonderful experience when we stayed here for 4 nights. I will tell you how wonderful this place was. If you have never dreamed of staying on a fantastic beach with your room literally ten steps from the water on an exotic tropical island, buccaneer resort is the place to make that dream come true. I had a perfect experience while staying here. We stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing. No pillowtop beds, room service, the rooms are a little rustic, but we had all the necessities: air conditioning, hot shower, ceiling fan, screened porch, fridge, clean beds, and coffee maker. And also a million dollar view. Our palmshaded cottage was about 30 feet from the most fantastic swimming beach I've ever seen, with crystal clear 85 degree water lapping gently at fine white sand. No waves, and it's so shallow and clear you can go out hundreds of feet out to snorkel off a tiny group of rocks. Oh, and did I mention there is a great restaurant and bar called ibis built out over the water about 100 feet from the buccaneer cabins? Fantastic filet mignon, fish, shrimp by the pound, and many more. We debated coming here because we had read some negative reviews complaining about sand fleas, bugs, etc, but we had
