Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the pool. Every time we went to use the pool, the only chairs available were reserved for the Ocean front rooms.

Amazing resort, location was incredible and the pool and lounge area were great. Highly recommend getting the half board at the Buffet dinner was super yummy with a lot of choice. The aircon and fan in the room were much needed and we had great night sleeps.

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Urlaub Anfang Juni 2026. Die Hotelanlage ist wunderschön, es gibt viel zu entdecken, fußläufig ist ein kleiner Ort mit vielen Lokalen und kleinen Shops. Auch ein Supermarkt ist in der Nähe. Im Hotel war alles sauber und modern, im Bad findet man Rituals Karma Produkte, die Pools waren wunderschön (Außen, Innen, auch Whirlpools + Sauna), im Spa Bereich gibt es gegen Gebühr Behandlungen/ Massagen. Vom Hotel aus ist man in ca 10-15 min am Strand. Das Buffet morgens ist sehr reichhaltig und lecker. Abends gibt es ein täglich wechselndes Buffet, auch da gab es nichts zu meckern :-) Es war ein rundum perfekter Urlaub und wir kommen definitiv wieder! Für Kinder wäre die Anlage prinzipiell auch geeignet, die Familien waren aber hauptsächlich in den umliegenden Familienhotels.

The PortoBay Blue Ocean was a brilliant first hotel experience of the portugese Algarve for us. Buildings and rooms were in absolut great condition (the beach access outside the hotel area was a little tricky - a coordinating info of the reception during check-in could have helped). The garden area was very comfortable with great views over the ocean. The service of the restaurants and hotel staff was absolutely perfect (a decent bit of a little more friendliness could have been placed for a more welcoming feeling). Parking was pretty easy and there was no need of the parking garage (15 €) due too enough possibilties outside of the hotel. Prices for drinks and food are on the upper level, but most of them are in a great quality. There is a possibility of using the area and restaurant of the nearby partner hotel as well. We consider to return for another vacation.

The hotel is well maintained and I was pleased that the room I stayed in was true to size. Hotel amenities are great, and you can find local bars, eateries, and a supermarket less than 15 mins walk from the hotel. Old town is a 10-15 min drive away. The walking bridge to Falesia beach was super convenient and I was very pleased with how easy the route was to access the beach. I was slightly disappointed and shocked by the lack of female sanitary products available in and around the hotel. This is rarely an issue I face at other hotels. I also would've appreciated knowing the reservation policy for the hotel restaurants, as they encourage that all reservations are made at least 2 days in advance. Unfortunately, this meant that the Italian restaurant at PortoBay Falesia was completely booked out by the time I arrived.

Fantastic hotel! Everything was clean, modern, and well looked after. The breakfast buffet was excellent, the pool and facilities were top-notch, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a wonderful experience and are already planning to come back. Highly recommended!

Colazione Senza dolci locali ne altro di particolare ma completa, mancano cibi senza zucchero per diabetici o persone in dieta. Le stanze laterali che danno sul centro del paese danno su capi da tennis e purtroppo i motori del condizionamento dell'intero hotel e sono molto rumorosi anche di notte.

Pros * Beautiful property in a fantastic location. * The hotel manager handled our complaint professionally, apologized personally, and genuinely tried to improve our experience. * The small café by the pool had outstanding, friendly, and efficient service. * The second dinner at Flor de Sal was much better, and the food was good. Cons * Paid for two Full Ocean View rooms, but one was clearly only a partial ocean view. Reception’s response was simply, “It is what it is.” * First dinner at Flor de Sal took over 2 hours before we received our meals. * Air conditioning barely cooled the room. * Mini fridge did not keep items cold (including medication). * Ceiling fan didn’t work. * Shower alternated between hot and cold every 30 seconds. * Clogged shower drain was reported but never repaired. * Only one complimentary bottle of water for the entire stay, despite guests being advised not to drink the tap water and temperatures around 36°C (97°F). * Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable. * Hotel corridors had a noticeable musty odor. * Bar service was consistently slow and forgetful. * Many hotel facilities closed surprisingly early. Overall, this hotel has tremendous potential, but for the price paid, the service, maintenance, and attention to detail fell well below expectations.
