The staff was exceptional. To brighten the hotel, a change is being implemented under a new management structure. I have seen a lot of changes in this hotel over the past 5 years and with luis as the new owner, I can see improvement. All the top cultural places in San Jose are within walking distance. Bus to the airport takes 5 minutes to walk.

Weve been going to hotel El Arigato for over a decade. Warning! There is a thief who has access to the room keys. We locked our room and went to dinner on not with 2019 when we went through airport security. The only time it was out of my sight was when we went to dinner. I immediately alerted the night clerk. He checked the room and found nothing. It's now officially over and I am still waiting to hear from the manager. Ive called repeatedly. Im always told the manager will view security footage, then contact me. In the meantime, an invoice appeared on my credit card from Universidad Format San Jose. This is an online trade school. Huh! It is owned by el maragatos financial advisor. The amount is the same as our hotel bill. Are they trying to conceal their revenue? Overall, the hotel is good for the price and location. Bring earplugs. The interior rooms away from the main street are quieter, but youll still hear noise all night long. Hot water is available, but use it if the other rooms on your floor are empty. Otherwise, youll hear a trickle every time someone else turns it on. On most of our visits, the staff has been very friendly, including the longtime manager, Daniel Venga. Although he was rude when we complained a few years ago.

El Arigato Hotel is perfect for you who want to stay in a part of San Jose for a night or two because it is situated literally 100 meters from Teatro National. The photos on application do not reflect the goods you receive. The room is old and soulless, however the price is acceptable for the location. Breakfast is at best good. The best thing about this hotel is the friendly and helpful staff.
