Einfaches kleines preiswertes Hotel mit sehr netter Gastgeberin. Die Zimmer waren in einem guten, sauberen Zustand und zudem überraschte und auch das Frühstück positiv. Ebenfalls ein Plus ist die Nähe zum tollen Strand, der in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar ist.

We had a nice stay at the Orchid Rest Hotel. The staff was super helpful, even though their english was not great. The hotel was also very hard to find. They were flexible regarding check-in and check-out.

This place has a good location, it's suitable for beach and other places. If you want to book, make sure you do so in advance. Otherwise, things get messy when you arrive. The hosts are fine and the food is adequate.

In April 2018, when we stayed at Peace Rest, we were thrilled to locate the location. The hostess was incredibly cordial and brought us to a private cabin that was on our budget. We were eager for our visit because it was very pleasant and convenient to the shore. Many of the attendees were locals because we were visiting Marissa for the Sri Lankan new year, and the proprietors had some pals and relatives join them to celebrate the holidays. Both the town and the shoreline as well as the guesthouse had a pretty good vibe. One day, when we went to the beach and said goodbye to the proprietors, my partner and I began to return, so we decided to go back and enjoy a bit of silence from the sun. When we returned to our cabana, we noticed the door was open, and when we made it, we saw three soaking wet children sitting on our bed drip-drying and their mother aunt in our shower. Even though we were there, we were shocked at what was going on. The male owner made an effort to convince them that they weren't aware that the room was used, but they gave us a room so we weren't buying it. It was somewhat disappointing. The place was very nice and clean. The owner and employees are very nice and helpful. The price is reasonable in my opinion, compared to other places, and the beach is very beautiful. It takes only one minute to walk to the beach. The owner was kind enough to arrange a whale watching trip with a discount price.

On this visit, we only stayed one night because we had a lot of touring to do, was a little confused when we first arrived because the space has halved in size on the land and another spot has been built, they were building the last time but just assumed they were extending, it has not lost it's appeal although it is still as relaxed and the staff is just as friendly. One guy came to the room to say hello as he recognized us. The main thing about this place is its location, directly across from restaurants and the beach. Did not have breakfast this time as we went whale watching early, but they did say we could have it when we returned, but we were out for a lot longer than expected this time. We always have to spend at least one day in Marissa, so it will not be our last visit.

I stumbled upon this place because it was only a brief distance from the beach through the restaurant across the street. The family who runs this place is charming and warm. Even though there were a few ants nearby, my room was big and clean. The cabana is dark and I wouldn't want to stay inside with the windows open with all the mosquitos.

Søde mennesker, men stedet er på ingen måde 3 1/2 stjerne. Der er intet varmt vand og skimmelsvamp i badeværelset. Én stikkontakt var der at finde i hele værelset, så hvis man er flere, så er det med at være kreativ. Derudover gør jeg lige opmærksom på at overnatningsstedet KUN tager i mod betaling kontant. Overnatningsstedet ligger fint ift. stranden og spisesteder.
