Staff was friendly and helpful. Gave us a room upgrade. The room was spacious and light. Plenty of blankets towels and tea/coffee supplies. Dinner downstairs was excellent and our waitress Emily was bubbly and very sweet. The room was a bit dated but that added to the charm. There was a well equipped kitchen with refrig and stove. No breakfast at this inn. But there are options close by. The bar had a lot of options and the prices very very reasonable. Would absolutely stay here again.

Loved Bannockburn. The restaurant and pub were wonderful with fantastic food and drinks. East to walk to the harbour and take pictures at the bridge.

I couldn’t recommend this property enough. What a lovely place and lovely people. We were running late and the lady stayed up for us. We also experienced a punctured tyre on the way up and they let us stay in the property until it was sorted. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It was clean, warm and comfortable. It’s an absolute must to stop off and stay here.

Such wonder owners. Gerry and Alison were so welcoming. The property is lovely, there is a beautiful shared bathroom and kitchen to go with the lovely room. Comfortable, warm, perfect for what you need.

I would like to thank the owners for making this the best, least stressful setting for cyclists doing the nc 500 jejog. On day 56 of our nc 500 cycling trip, we stayed here, and it was equipped with everything we needed, including bike storage, a drying room, a washing machine, and a kitchen. The barrestaurant's beer and food were excellent, and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were large and tidy. We had to share the bathroom, but that was fine. When we rode to the bannockburn inn, I stepped off my bike and was experiencing severe road rash, cuts, and bruising. The first time I stayed here, Alison, who is a qualified first rider, made sure I had everything I needed to deal with my injuries and even offered to drive me to the governess the next day if I needed it. I appreciate you, Alison once more! If I ever pedal in that way again, I will certainly go back.

The place is great, and the location is close to the Highland Games, and the location is cool. The place is also clean and cozy and the food is tasty. The staff is also pleasant.

Excellent location and parking is plentiful. The food was delicious, and the lady in the property was quite kind. The pizza we had on Friday night was unquestionably the best pizza outside of Italy and highly recommended. Will certainly be back.

During business in Helmsdale, a friend recommended the Bannockburn Inn so I went there for a couple of days and nights. Excellent food and a pub, very clean and cozy place to stay. A great host, excellent service, and convenient parking. That is where I will return to when in Helmsdale.

We had just finished the first day of cycling so they probably need it more than he did. Alison, our host, was warm and friendly and took us to our room after securing our tandem in an outbuilding. It had a bathroom and kitchen area, but with no one else in that section of the inn it was actually a private apartment. It had everything we needed and more, and was very comfortable and warm. Though it was fairly basic in its furniture, it had everything we needed and more. Even though it was chilly in the last few days in June, and the heating was very welcome. It was helpful to dry our kit and ready for our last day of cycling. To celebrate the next day being our last day of cycling, we took supper at the restaurant, which I highly recommend. Despite cycling over 900 miles in the last two weeks, we nearly had enough of the starters they were so generous. My son ordered the delicious pizza as the main feast overpowered him, but a group of cyclists on a different table generously accepted it. They had just finished their first day of cycling john groats to lands end, so they probably need it more than he did. Although it is a shame that he still struggles to eat

Upon arrival, the rooms had reserved parking in the lot, so parking was easy but it was unclear where to check in as the lower level of the building is a pub and there were no specific instructions given. The apartment was clean and spacious with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Apartment is accessed by an external metal staircase from the pub garden.

The b&b is on a main road (A9) which is the road most traffic including large trucks use to go north/south of Scotland. The rooms are just above the bar so there is music on until about 10:30pm. The room itself was very nice, clean and spacious for the price we paid. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. There was also toiletries to use in the shared bathroom as well. Staff we spoke to were really friendly and asked if we needed anything for the room or would like our room cleaned. It’s in a good central location in the centre of Helmsdale, with a few options for eateries/groceries and riverside walks. A perfect stop if you’re doing NC500!
