Bedding was clean, bathroom was clean and towels were clean. Whole place could do with a makeover but I’d stay again. Was convenient for tubes and overhead to get where we wanted to go. Lovely restaurant next door and pub over the road was really good. If you are looking for a cheap getaway then this is ideal.

My husband has been going up to London for Merchant Navy Day for a number of years now, and has always stayed at City Stay for at least the past 12 of them. Classed as a budget hotel it is more than adequate for his needs. 2 minutes from the tube to Kings Cross Station it is ideally situated. The rooms are clean and the bathroom is a reasonable size, but being an older building the stairs to the upper floors are not the widest! There is a small friendly lively pub nearby with tables outside if you prefer something quieter. There is a garage opposite with an onsite co-op shop and a Sainsburys store a short walk away to purchase your own food. The kitchen is situated downstairs and is stocked with basics, bread, milk, serials etc, as well as cooking facilities. Obviously the state of the kitchen is dictated by the guests who use it but always starts off very clean daily. There is also a small lounge with tv for socialising. If you are visiting London for sightseeing then you save a lot on normal accommodation prices. You can pay at the hotel and they do have a 24hr cancellation policy.

I stayed here because this was the only place for my company that fit within their budget, and I'd paid the difference in return for staying somewhere else. Very disgusting and filthy, the place needs a deep cleaning and some money spent on the place to bring it up to a good standard. This place has a good position.

Hôtel très pratique pour aller voir Abba Voyage. Juste à côté de ka station Bow Church qui est elle à une station du concert. Chambres simples avec douche, propres, à un prix intéressant pour Londres. Accueil sympathique des personnes de la réception. Restauration simple à proximité.

Excellent location, just next to the DLR Station that 10 min to Canary Whary. Room was very clean, very good to have simple breakfast and use the kitchen. I can save much from eating outside. Resonable price for london, so do not except you can get much service. Nice staff.

Extremely helpful staff, incredibly nice room considering the price, free towels and soap for our own use as well as the kitchen/lounge were both nice touches. Very much enjoyed our stay and will likely come back when travelling to Stratford in the future.

My parents stayed at CityStay for a weekend, they were two people, one with a disability (needs a walker, but can take the few steps to the entrance with help). They arrived late as their flight was delayed but, having stayed here once before, we were aware to let them know in advance. The guy at the reception was a bit confused as I was with my parents and he thought it was going to be three people, but after explaining I was just accompanying them to the room everything was ok and he was nice and accommodating. My parents were also given a room which was accessible with the walker, but wasn't super spacious. I think it is a good option if you're coming to visit London and you're going to be out all day, as it offers a very basic level of accommodation, but the price is probably one of the best around, so it's a decent trade-off. My family has been at this hotel before and they will probably stay again as it is so close to DLR, buses, and District line, and it has a lot of food places around which offer from breakfast to dinner, a corner store, and an Asda open 24/7.

Does the job. Room gets hot (not a bad thing), water gets hot (not a bad thing), very little amenities (hand soap and towels) - but for a great location, a breakfast next door and easy commutes this is the perfect place to rest your head. Don't expect a 5-star hotel. Expect a bed and quick hospitality for a fair price.
