Our room was big, with an enclosed bath that made my partner look like a princess when she fell into it and a shower in which I could have held a party. Everything about the room is considered and thought about. It wont be to everyones taste, thats the problem with taste, but I loved it. The bed was so large that I had to call my girlfriend to make sure she was still in it if I gave him the slightest niggle. It is not a complaint, and having at least 400 thread sheets is always a treat. The highlight, of course, is the restaurant. Not cheap by any means, but you get what you pay for and in London, this quality of cooking would cost twice as much. They are courageous and have gone for a transparent kitchen. It looked a serene atmosphere, which is not what we are led to believe, it was. Paul was always visible microscopically checking when dinner was done so you could see that attention to detail is all around this place. We both believed that 21212 is a mustdo for a hotelrestaurant, and it would be a shame that anyone coming to edinburgh would choose one of the majors over this wonderful family run establishment. Thank you, Katie, we will be back!.

We stayed as a group for the long weekend. Katie was a great hostess. We were very welcome and it was really like a home away from home. The room is great. They are huge, comfy, and quiet. We had dinner in a private room and the meal was very good. Definitely in the top 5 meals. Service was great and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. We could not have had a better stay.

With our lunch, it's very memorable. Excellent service, delicious food, and wine. All in all, visit to this wonderful, beautiful dining room. We didn't stay at this hotel because we live locally, but if the rest matches our experience, you're in for a treat.

Excellent and highly recommended. Wonderful, spacious, well-appointed, luxurious rooms, excellent setting, and fantastic breakfasts. The opposite of a large chain of hotels that lack soul. Very sleek and everything has personal touches everywhere.

After reading the previous reviews, you soon realize that it has all been said before, but we had such a pleasant few days that we wanted to echo the sentiments expressed. Nothing could have been better from our entrance greeting to our departure. A spacious bedroom with a wonderful view, a well-appointed bathroom, an excellent dinner, and two excellent breakfasts. The location is ideal with free parking available on weekends, I can only repeat, what more could one say?.
