This is not a glamorous destination hotel, but it is an immaculate and welcoming haven for travellers to Cardiff, and the perfect option for my daughter and I while we packed up and cleaned her student accommodation. The beds were very comfortable and the secure parking, locked from 10 pm to 7 am, meant that we could load up the car and park at the hotel, without extra charge (£25/night at most central hotels but complimentary for Tanes residents) the night before leaving without worrying about security. Btw, big up to the Sparrow Coffee House round the corner on Four Elms Road for an excellent start to our day with a warm greeting, coffee and danish pastries. Overall, the Tanes Hotel was excellent value for our needs. Note to US visitors from an ex-NY resident: walking 30+ mins in the EU is normal to access local amenities. The Tanes is at least a 15 min walk from the city’s excellent pubs and restaurants and well worth the exercise. Alternatively there are plenty of local taxi/Uber services which afford the experience of meeting local colourful characters while en route - the Welsh love a chat. Embrace the cultural difference - you might even have fun! Croeso i gymru! X

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tanes Hotel. The room was spacious, very clean and had all that we needed for 1 nights stay. The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. Only downside was there was limited parking in the hotel car park but there was plenty of parking on the side streets nearby. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Fab find, v v reusable in June unfortunately the prices are going up in line with the season so out my price range for work stopovers but this place is great.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite, it's an amazing deal for the price. Clean, nice decor and comfortable! Only a 30 minute walk to the City Centre, too. Would definitely stay again.

Didn't spend time to give a proper review as we only slept there for a few hours before heading back home. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Clean room, easy/free street parking. Not a ton of eating areas nearby (a few pubs, not a ton). But cute hotel and great price!

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend! Hotel is very handy for location, about 20 minute walk into the centre or there’s a bus stop outside if you don’t fancy walking, beds really comfy and really good shower, coffee facilities. Would stay here again.
