Arriving at hotel outside looked a bit worn. But when i entered the hotel i could see it was under a refurbishment, this did not affect my stay, as the rooms were great, large bed, tv very clean bathroom. I would definatly stay again

We had a warm comfortable room and had a good night's sleep, so what more can you ask for. Would certainly book again.

Clean room & Clean inside overall. The member of staff on duty on Saturday was extremely helpful. Appliances need to be checked for safety & other guests should remember to close doors carefully especially after 11pm. All in all a good stay & cool room very welcome on a hot weekend.

The temperature of the room was excellent to say it was 33 degrees through the day. The mattress was a little to soft and the pillows were too hard. We received one bath towel to share so we asked for more towels and did get them (late on the 2nd evening). There were 2 of us booked in so I would have thought 2 towels minimum! No hand towels just bath towels. There was no plug in the bath so we were restricted to showers only which as we were only there 4 nights we let it go! I think the reception staff could have been a little more friendly as we came and went and although the bedroom was spacious the bathroom was tiny and I did bang my knee on the sink getting out of the shower and tripped over the door stop, which was right in front of the toilet, twice!!

Rooms are basic some hotel/travel web pages states a pool. NO pool usable. Been out of order months . Hotel a little edgy.... Some rooms need a good deep clean. Can't see threw room windows for dirt. A couple of us stayed a few nights only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel to share for 2!! Iron and trouser press don't work. Hot water is never Hot At moment only continental breakfast or pot noodles or crisps . Hotel is mainly used for councils homeless and domestic violence victims. Got one cup with no handle kettles need descaling. Big holes in ceiling where lights been and not filled in. Splash marks and dirt up walls skirting boards are dirty .All staff are male. No women work there. Just Asian males , even cleaners. a couple of staff are not polite. Look and ignore when ask for an extra pillow. Bottom floor rooms smell damp

It was ok, needed a bit more attention to detail… just one cup in room for two, bathroom needed a bit more cleaning, base of bed bigger than the mattress etc but it was fairly cheap and ok

Not to the UK standards. Basic items that you expect were missing. Bath mat, a working iron board

Budget hotel - great for a work week in a great location. Very friendly staff. Quiet. Clean and comfortable. The Brentwood pub down the road was fantastic - very cheap meals which were excellent.

I stayed at the Carlton Park Hotel on a Saturday night with my wife and her brother. We booked a family room which had a double bed and a single bed, and for the price, it wasn’t too bad. The hotel is a bit outdated, but for a quick and affordable stay, it did the job. When we first walked into the room, there was a bit of an odd smell, but it wasn’t anything unbearable, and we got used to it. The room was also really hot when we arrived, with the radiators cranked up to the max. I’ve seen some past reviews mention cold rooms, so maybe they were trying to compensate for that. Once we turned down the heat and opened the window, the temperature was more comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and the shower worked just fine. It wasn’t anything luxurious, but it got the job done. The bed itself was okay—comfortable enough for the night—but the pillows were a bit flat, and there was only one per person, which wasn’t ideal. The view from our window was a little disappointing, though. Looking out across the garden, we could see a window that was falling apart and some wood stacked nearby, which didn’t really add to the aesthetic of the place. That being said, for the price we paid, it wasn’t a disaster. The TV worked fine, and it was a decent, no-frills place to crash for the night. If you’re just looking for an affordable layover or somewhere to sleep for the night, this place works. I've stayed at much more expensive hotels that offered the same level of comfort, so I was pleasa
