Manager and Shona on reception were extremely nice and helpful, as were all the staff we came in contact with. The hotel was in an excellent position with a wonderful outlook on the Bay. our room was excellent, but in spite of being very busy Shona assisted us by upgrading to room with sea view ( Angus ) as soon as it became available without charge. Would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a break in Dunoon. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Bar service excellent and moderately priced.

Excellent location to localities. Hotel friendly with nothing a problem. Breakfast and evening meals adequate and tasty. We had a double room on ground floor with view of bay which is comfortable and expected for price paid. Welcoming front of house staff too. Would return again. Husbands First time back here in 50 years as a teenager and was not disappointed.

I stayed in this hotel for the weekend as I was running the Dunoon ultra Marathon on the Saturday. I got up too early for breakfast so they made me a free packed lunch. Even though I had checked out they allowed me to leave my car at the overflow car park all day. Exceptional staff, first class service and a lovely hotel with stunning views across the bay.

We reserved this hotel for a few days. Due to our parents having numerous vacations there, we longed to visit Union. Great position and stunning views. Staff is very accommodating and welcoming. We couldn't have done enough for them as the hotel appeared to have outdated accommodations. All are very clean and comfortable. I did not have breakfast but coffee. But the rest of the party said it was very good.

We would stay here again. The union is really nice, but a definite no to the food. On a coach trip from Monday to Friday, I stayed here with friends. Positive aspects. Our room had a beautiful outlook and was beautiful and extremely comfy, but despite the fact that there was a lift, we had to take 20 steps from three different locations to reach our room. There are numerous steps in this hotel that the lift does not access, despite the fact that there is a lift. Suzie is excellent on the crew, and nothing is too much trouble. Bad points. The meal was awful. Breakfast wasnt particularly outstanding, but it was not your typical Scottish breakfast, with no variant, and the toast is awful, always difficult. Everyone on our trip proclaimed the evening meal to be terrible. Its unfortunate that top management did not offer the personnel a better menu to choose from and all meals were served on small plates and small portions. This hotel is in such a wonderful location and has great employees.

Really unique property. We felt we were in the past, most guests relaxing in the lounge waiting to be called for dinner. Beautiful view of the water, the property was right on the promenade. The dinner was a set price and included 3 courses. It was excellent! We enjoyed our stay except for the door would creak with the breeze and kept us awake until we finally thought to jam something in between. But all in all, was a great place to stay and I would stay again.
