Great staff and service! The food at the restaurant was excellent! This inn has a great English countryside feel. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to this area.

Lovely historic Inn. We had a great meal, staff were very friendly. We had room 1 a lovely suite with river views. Very comfy beds and spacious. Wifi needs some improvement other than that it was perfect.

We stayed for a night for my birthday and my father in laws birthday and we spent the afternoon in front of the fire which was so cosy and relaxing. We then had dinner and had the famous ribs…we were all blown away by the quantity and quality of meat. The staff were incredibly friendly! The room we stayed in was huge and comfortable. Definitely will be returning! A fabulous stay.

Great 1 night stay, excellent food for our evening meal, I had the lovely Sea Bass with veg & potatoes & my wife had the scampi & chips, which she enjoyed very much. We left early so unfortunately never tried the breakfast. Room was clean & spacious, bed was comfortable. Staff & owners made us fell very welcome. Would stay again if we are down that way. Thank you.

This was a last minute business trip. I was travelling alone and the staff were extremely welcoming i felt comfortable eating alone in the pub both nights staff were amazing very friendly. The room was lovely very warm spacious, food really nice, i will definitely stay again. The only thing to be aware of is getting to the pub the first night my sat nav took me along a dirt track it was pitch black and i genuinely thought my sat nav was taking me to a dead end in a field haha but keep following it and you do come to the pub. My second night i came back via the main road which was much easier to navigate.

This is a hidden gem of a hotel, it was very reasonably priced for the good size of the room and facilities, the staff were all really friendly and helpful and it was lovely and quiet. We had a peaceful evening stroll by the stream and enjoyed drinks outside the front of the hotel in the cool. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back to try the food.

On arrival there was only one room available although we had 2 confirmation bookings! Unfortunately we had to share one room between us! Poppy who we dealt with at the property was outstanding in trying to communicate with Hotels.com whereas Hotels.com was completely hopleless!! Lack of understanding of the problem which could be due to a lack of understanding of the English language? Not sure where they were based but confirmed not in England! Completely ruined my evening especially after a 2 day activity where I needed a good sleep and rest! Well done Poppy though at The Ship Inn - a very mature person with great patience despite being young in age *****
