Our stay was wonderful. The full breakfast had several delicious choices and was presented beautifully with fresh flowers and linens on the table. We stayed in the carriage house and appreciated the large communal sitting room with refrigerator and microwave. My husband swam in the pool and commented how very clean it was. We discovered alot to do in this area and plan to return. Very convenient parking too.

A delightful old school New England bed and breakfast (no TV in the rooms! Love it!) on acres of beautiful countryside. I had a queen four poster bed with antique bureau and side tables. The windows had lace curtains and pull-down shades - adorable and ensured darkness and privacy when desired. Plentiful plugs and great free wifi allowed me to easily get my work done. Everything was clean and comfortable. The en suite featured marble tiles, great water pressure and temp, and was well stocked with soaps and towels. The shower was spotless and roomy. But the real treat was the included breakfast!! Fresh fruit, fresh juices, great coffee, teas, and a choice of freshly made meals (omelettes, pancakes, eggs with sides etc) gave my day a bright start. The dining room was well appointed and charming. It was a delightful escape! My compliments to the hosts!

Our eighth stay at the BRI. We prefer the huge M1 and M2 suites in the main building. They are a steal — two very large rooms, one of them a screened in sitting room. Lucas is a gracious host, and all of the staff work hard to please guests. The nearby Old Inn on the Green in New Marlborough, MA offers one of the best fine dining experiences in New England. The Yale Chamber Music concerts and Music Mountain are our major cultural attractions.

Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was great. Parking/access was easy and stress-free. Anyone with bad allergies keep in mind that this is out in the country - grass/hay, farms around etc. This is a big part of what we enjoyed about it but we know it can be a problem for some people.

A comfortable, lovely stay in a picturesque part of rural Connecticut. They served a delicious breakfast in a beautifully appointed dining room in the historic main house. A thoroughly delightful experience.

What a quaint and charming inn! Our room was quaint and very clean. The staff was excellent. The free breakfast was beyond! Served in a sunroom with white glove service. Very classy. The nin is old and some of the floors squeak. -great value.

Lovely grounds, well maintained rooms, very pleasant staff and excellent breakfast, and the main house is a beautiful vintage estate house. I stayed in a separate building with a relaxing common area. It would have been nice to have coffee/tea available in room or in the common area (rather than have the short walk to the office area) to get coffee in the morning, particularly in inclement weather.

We really enjoyed our trip to Blackberry River Inn. The room was clean and cozy. Parking was easy. Interactions with Lucas gave us the feeling that we are really home. When we had to leave early by 7 am, Lucas offered to prepare hot breakfast to go for us though breakfast time starts at 8:00 am. When you do have time to sit down and have breakfast, it was well prepared. Like the other guest said, that is the best breakfast you can have in town, pancakes, eggs, sausages, yogurt, milk, coffee, juice. He offers all.
